"(CBS/AP) Vice President Dick Cheney says the United States will risk another terrorist attack if voters make the wrong choice on Election Day, suggesting Sen. John Kerry would follow a pre-Sept. 11 policy of reacting defensively.

"It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States," Cheney told supporters at a town-hall meeting Tuesday.

Democrats reacted quickly.

"Dick Cheney's scare tactics crossed the line today, showing once again that he and George Bush will do anything and say anything to save their jobs," said a statement issued by vice presidential candidate John Edwards."

Does anyone here belieive that if the terrorists have an opportunity/plan for another devastating attack in the US that they will pass it up whether or not the Reps or the Dems are in power?

Is it not possible that the terrorists might welcome Bush staying in power because of the low opinion the rest of the world have for him and the fact that he is losing allies and international support at an astonishing rate because of the situation in Iraq? The funds being spent there are funds that could have been used elsewhere to fight terrorist attacks on American soil (like doing more to ensure security at home at borders and ports etc...). It also is spreading the numbers of deployable troops too thin in fact weakening the type of response that the US could muster up if another attack were to take place (or if another more obvious threat) were to suddenly make their move.

It seems to me that the terrorists actually WANT (for some sick and twisted reason) World War 3 to erupt. What better way to ensure that happening than to have Bush remain in power?

Or, as they called this on Air America radio this morning "A shining example of Republican gas-baggery"!!!! Playing on people's fear is a large part of their campaign.

Well, it is funny you should mention that. It made me think of how when I was a kid I saw right through t.v. ads that told me that If I did not have thier product life would be miserable. Some examples are Pepsi cola, Milk, Budweiser beer, Jif peanut butter, Kraft macaroni and cheese, every deodorant and soap. Crest Colgate and Aquafresh toothpaste. It is an old advertising trick, make the people think that they need a product to be happy, even if they use it and are not happier, If advertised, they will be afraid to stop using it, for fear their quality of life may slightly decrease.

To to me, Bush is like Charmin toilet paper. It does not matter what I use, and there are better brands out there anyway.
