Ouch! - Kerry attacks Bush's Service

Oh geeze! How'd THIS happen?

LEADERS OF THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS AND THE AMERICAN LEGION have both just endorsed Bush. ( http://instapundit.com/archives/017701.php )

Kerry would have done well to take Clinton's advice and drop the subject of Vietnam completely, but we know that  he... just...can't...help...himself...

Bush's records are already public, and we already know that when HE says, "Bring it on," he means it. Kerry has only succeed in showing those critical swing voters that he's a girlie-man -- or, as Mark Steyn like's to say, Nuancy-boy -- who has no leadership abilities and can't even stand up for himself.

Here's a complete timeline of Bush's service, ( http://www.hillnews.com/york/090904.aspx ).

Just to repeat a few things some people would like to ignore, both Kerry & Bush joined the RESERVES and were prepared to go to Vietnam if they were called to. Since he signed up to be a pilot, it was more likely that Bush would be the one to be called up (60% of them were), and since his unit was flying in Vietnam at the time the swiftboats were patrolling the coast and not involved in combat, it would have been a good bet to assume that he would be the one to see action.

Of course, no one can say that he would have received as many medals as Kerry, but I'm confident that if he had received any, it wouldn't have been because he requested them himself and then went outside his chain of command to shop for a sympathetic officer to procure them for him, and they would have been the result of a great deal more, either internal or external, bleeding than Kerry's entailed.

Bush's records are already public. He's not sweating or whining (like some people who apparently think that sort of thing is presidential) because one of his opponent's biggest donors and the (cough, cough) 'impartial' media who had 'journalistic' 'standards' that were too 'high' to allow them to report on (or heaven forbid, investigate) the claims of the Swiftvets are in cahoots and doing their best to win one for The Party.

Wonder why Kerry has such an issue about releasing his records like George Bush has already done? Could the Legendary-in-his-own home-movies Vietnam hero be more of a coward than George Bush? Is there something in them that has the potential to hurt his campaign even more than the unanswered Swiftvet charges?

Just wondering.

Afterall, it's logical to assume that whatever he's holding back must be even worse than the hit he's taken for keeping it private. It's quite ironic, really, that all the wounds Kerry sustained in Vietnam and all of the one's he's sustained in this campaign have been self-inflicted. He's probably lost more blood biting his lip the last month than he did 'earning' all 3 of his purple hearts.

Did you see the reception that Kerry received when he spoke to the American Legion?

He received a polite reception. It was far from a heartfelt welcome.
