U.S. Must Become Two Countries

Half of the country should succeed. It seems very logical as we are all very divided. The neo-cons can get their Christian fundamentalist state automatic weapons available at Walmart(http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/09/politics/09ban.html), women barefoot and in the kitchen and all forms of tolerance outlawed. If that's what the people want they should have it! I believe in democracy but not the tyranny of the majority.
The rest of us will live in a peaceful harmonious society modeled after Scandanavia. We'll have socialized healthcare, outlaw hand guns, provide education for al.
I really think this is the answer! I don't want to leave this country because it is my home but I can't live with the extremist attitudes developing in the last 20 years. I actually like our constitution and the policies of FDR and want to keep them in place.

I'm having a great time reading your posts not only on this thread but also the thread you started about Bush being so evil....You're hysterical! You keep lecturing all of us about all of the extremists, neocons, and your litany against Bush and all of the supposed atrocities he's guilty of in your mind and one thing becomes very clear. YOU are the extremist...sorry but then sometimes we become the very thing we hate! LOL
I truly love some of your sources(websites) that you try to send us to for supposedly valid information and they end up being nothing but propaganda sites at best.
Nice try....but I for one am not buying any of your views or the message your trying to convey. Geez, talk about extreme and radical.....
It was a hoot but I frankly don't have the time for any more of this nonsense!
P.S To answer you question about who else agrees with you that the U.S. must become two countries.....well based on the replies I've seen the answer is "not too many"!
Besides, would we become the first non-contiguous nation, with NYC and LA forming dual capitals of Metropatamia, (which would include Chicago, San Fransisco, Boston, Atlanta and, well, all of Vermont). The rest of the country could form "Staples Heartland America" (that's what I envision them naming their nation, because they'd need some corporate funding to make it work....) Who would get the nuclear weapons? That one would be tricky because I have a feeling they're all actually located in Staples Heartland America. What would become of D.C.? Would it become divided like cold war Berlin? Would Walmart become an actual governmental department in Staples Heartland America? Texas would sure luck out since they have their own power grid (has this been their plan all along?)
Anyway...bad idea. I love America, and would never want to see us become split up like some post-USSR satelite region. Just think what it would do to the NFL.
"Who else agrees with me? Half of the country should succeed."
Well, I saw this group today on a corner in downtown Milwaukee and they believe only the wealthiest 1% of the country should succeed. (don't worry they are kidding - but MAN are they funny) They are called "Billionaires for Bush" and they have a super funny website. Really makes me chuckle. There are thousands of them throughout the country, dressing up in tuxes and pretending to applaud the devastating, horrible policies that are widening the income gap wider than its ever been. I really do believe, based on what he has done so far, that 4 more years of Bush means we will soon have no more middle class-- only Rich, Poor, and Destitute.
Wait, Nisa... did you mean SECEDE?

I agree. And that would be the CONSERVATIVE side. LOL
Only the inner cities in the US trend more towards the Democratic side, while the rural areas trend towars the Republican side.
