Why is Bush still ahead? I just can't understand.

-3 years later and we have yet to find Osama Bin Laden

-Bad Economy .(Outsourcing, loss of jobs)

-Every other country hates us..(No allies)

Just to name a few... Only way I'd even consider voting for Bush is if he suddenly turned up with Osama Bin Laden at election time. (which very likely could happen.) Even with that, I'm not sure I'd vote for him.

Sorry, that post was intended as sarcasm for bringing up Clinton again. I should have used the "wink" icon, I suppose. Yes, I know that wasn't the REAL title of the brief, which is why I said "something like....."

I'd bet a dollar that Bush says they have him located and there is an election cliffhanger. It would be a good publicity stunt. I could see him saying that in order to win. I think Polls are a joke because they are not random enough, and they are a poll, a lot of people polled will not vote, a lot of people who will vote were not polled. I figure, a poll reprents a sample of something that is very uncertian anyway. that is what the election is for, it is the actual poll.

that's what i mean, Here, think of it this way if you go to do a poll on say 5th avenue NYC on a weekday in the middle of the week, what type of people are you going to be polling? blue collar workers? lay people? or more affluent folks after the almighty dollar? you are going to get different results there than you are if you go to schnectady in a hospital emergency room, or at an elks club meeting in Ohio. You can hardly do a thorough poll, even an internet or phone poll is goign to wliminate a lot of people.

uh, if "we" already knew about Bin Ladens intent, then why were "WE" so shocked by 9/11? Hey, lets just absolve Bush of everything, He is an innocent, and we are much too hard on him. His job was hard. Is was difficult for him to jump into the commander in chief position, and he did what the president of any company or corporation or even mom and pop business would do upon being hired for the top position. He went on vacation.

I have heard some conspiracy theorists say that they think Osama is already captured and will be trotted out in leg irons just before the election, as an "October surprise" to boost GWB's chances! But then I've also heard that gas prices will mysteriously drop right before the election too! Can't say I really believe either of those theories, but I WOULD enjoy lower gas prices; I'm just glad that I don't drive an SUV with gas prices the way they are now! It still wouldn't make me vote for Bush, though..... :-)

Yes, but your inference was that the memo actally had something to say about hijacked planes being used as weapons, which it did not.

I didn't ay we knew about his intent. I siad we knew that he had designs on attacking us-Imean, at least the Clinton and Bush administrations were both well aware of that fact. We obviously didn't know exactly HOW he intended to attack us, or we may have been able to prevent it.

There is nothing to absolve him of. 9/11 was not his fault, nor was it the fault of President Clinton. Although both presidents had plenty of justification for going after bin Laden, let's face it, the world and the general public would not have supported what is even today being referred to as a "preemptive strike". We're supposed to wait until thousands of Americans are slaughtered before we act, haven't you heard?

Oh, I'm sure that's what many will claim if by chance OBL is captured before the election. Personally I think he probably would have trotted him out when his poll numbers fell even or below Kerry's, LOL.
