That is indeed unfortunate.

I have a question though. What was your point in posting this...and Kerry is responsible for this person's behaviour....how?

Or did you somehow want to spark a debate on how terrible and hateful ALL Democrats (or Kerry supporters) are based on the behaviour of one individual?

If that is the case, it says a great deal more about you than it does about Democrats in general.

Thank you suemox.
The first key to wisdom is constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question and by questioning we arrive at the truth.  -

I wasn't particularly surprised but this election campaign is discouraging to say the least. I am disappointed by the animosity shown by both sides and I have said a thing or two to Dems posting the same kind of blanket statments. It's been an ugly experience all around and it saddens and frustrates me. Right at a time when people should be working together for a common good, it's become increasingly divided.

I keep hoping that if I try to keep my arguments somewhat logical (and I'm not ALWAYS successful) I will get the same kind of response in return. It has worked to some degree and I have had some very civil (sometimes heated - which is fine) exchanges with a number of the more vocal and angry folks on the board and now get along quite fine with many.

The purpose of debating is not always about winning (unless it's an election debate)....it's about learning about differing viewpoints and trying to find some common ground. It's always rewarding to start at polar opposites and eventually meet somewhere in the middle where one side acknowledges the other side as having a valid viewpoint. It's not always necessary to agree.

When all is said and done I think reasonable people on both sides (and there are PLENTY) want pretty much the same thing out of life. I suppose the thing that really gets me going is when someone is highly critical of certain qualities in people when they display those very same qualities themselves (and may not even be aware of it).

While 9/11 was a tragic and terrible event there was one small thing that was good that came out of it. Americans pulled together (indeed the world came together). It was inspiring and beautiful to behold. It brought out the very best in the people of America and it highlighted what was truely important in this life. What happened?

He's not, of course. No more than Bush was responsible for the guy who fired his employee because she had a Kerry bumper sticker. This kind of stuff is totally irrelevant to the issues, and BOTH sides need to resist the temptation to keep bringing it up.

Well this is the story of the left wing lunatic to offset the story of the right wing lunatic that fired the woman for refusing to remove a Kerry / Edwards bumper sticker from her car.

Some people are absolutely insane.

Just imagine the outrage if a REPUBLICAN supporter had done this to a Kerry-lover's little girl.

But of course since a KERRY supporter did it, BOTH sides are somehow at fault.

Absolutely amazing.

Still.

Sigh. Please tell me where I said Kerry is responsible for the assaulter's behavior.

The point is, look how many excuse this behavior by accusing "both sides".

I'm certain that had a Republican supporter done this, no one here would be suggesting that we get over it, or that Democrats were also somehow at fault.

... still happily exposing the double standards of the leftists.

Thanks to Kerry-supporters for making it so easy!

I think it was wrong of him to tear up a little girl's sign and making her cry, but the father shouldn't have had his daughter there if he didn't want something like that to happen. It'd be like a Kerry supporter taking his daughter there at a Bush campaign stop and them taking them out and making them take down their signs etc. It happens with both parties and a lot of people are getting fanatic like at a heavy metal concert. Heh. XOXO.
