Here's the story...first, the AP report about Phil Parlock and his daughter, who allegedly had the Bush/Cheney sign they were holding ripped out of their hands and torn up at a Democratic rally:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/040916/480/wvrs10309162250&e=2&ncid=1756

Your first thought is, "That's terrible! No matter what your political sentiments, ripping a sign away from a little girl is just shameful bevaior."

But wait! Apparently Mr. Parlock seems to have a history of being "roughed" up by Democratic supporters ripping up his signs...

Charleston (WV) Daily Mail, August 27, 1996, Page 3C

Phil Parlock's experience was less calm.

The Huntington man said he was knocked to the ground by a Clinton supporter when he tried to display a sign that read "Remember Vince Foster," the deputy White House counsel who committed suicide in a Washington, D.C., park. His death has become the subject of much debate among Clinton opponents.

Charleston (WV) Daily Mail, October 28, 2000, pg. 1A:

Phil Parlock didn't expect to need all 12 of the Bush-Cheney signs he and his son Louis smuggled in their socks and pockets into the rally for Vice President Al Gore.

But each time they raised a sign, someone would grab it out of their hands, the two Huntington residents said. And sometimes it got physical.

and in fact, the "Democrat" who attacked him was none other than his own son! Check it out:

For what benefit does he do this stuff?

Some people are indeed very strange. I guess people will do just about anything to get their 15 minutes of fame, even if it comes every four years.

The article from TruthOut that I posted a link to (#5 in this thread) mentions that possiblity, but it's nothing proven for sure...

Who cares anymore....

Both sides offer up nasties about the other side.

Do you work for Kerry? I only ask because you don't seem to participate much here, just post new topics and wait for others to argue your point.

"Do you work for Kerry? I only ask because you don't seem to participate much here, just post new topics and wait for others to argue your point. "

It's called "ISSUES". The right wing is completely unfamiliar with the concept, they prefer character assasination, whether it's Kerry's military record or whispering that John McCain is crazy from his imprisonment.

I post the issues, much to the consternation of the right wing, who desperately want to paper over Bush's 4 year record of failure by any means possible.

But thanks for the concern, I didn't realize you were a member in good standing of the "posting police". Continue to inform me when I violate the law.

Keep on posting, dablacksox, I have enjoyed your posts and you are violating nothing as near as I can tell. I can attest to your mid-topic posts as well, if need be. ;)
