<< Let's face it he wasn't REALLY speaking to the UN... >>

True. He was speaking about liberty, democracy, human rights, freedom and dignity.

He and his administration think the same about the U.N. as about half of all Americans...They are a corrupt, inconsequential group of leaders who talk a big game but lack the nerve to actually do their job. If they have no need for us, I say we form a new alliance group of free and democratic nations who will work to protect and defend our values. Look at the countries involved... many DO NOT have the best interests involving the U.S.'s security.

His "flowery compliments" were not directed to the U.N., but our allies who have held strong with us.

He could not say another word to "his base" and feel certain that they will work for his reelection. The base is covered.

If it was a missed opportunity to grovel and kiss *ss, I'm glad he missed it!

Kerry is having delusions if he thinks that all of the sudden he'll just ask FR, GR,& RU, to step into Iraq and finish the job while we take our soldiers out and they'll say "sure thing".

That is truly the most mystifying claim he's made yet.

Actually, sKerry is more concerned with aligning himself with enemies of our Republic. He did it during the Vietnam War and he's doing it now. He's never met a communist he didn't like. He's willing to sell out America's interest by acceding to the UN body of authority in matters of our national security and pretty much everything else. He admitted as much. Now THAT is F'in sKerry!

How conveniently one forgets that we DO have allies in the UN. President Bush has a base in the UN and he was speaking to THEM. Not France, Germany or the other communist countries. I'm glad President Bush doesn't compromise our national security in order to gain acceptance or approval from the corrupt portion of the UN. And that portion of the UN would LOVE to see America in ruins.

...he'd leave the military at the whim of our enemies...sorta like the Vietnam soldiers who were still on ACTIVE DUTY in a hostile area of the world. And we all know what happened to them (not to mention to the civilians who were unfortunate to be caught by the Viet Cong).

Something the likes of Kofi and his ilk as well as the communists/dictators holding equally high positions in the UN refuse to grant to their citizens. The UN is a bastion of despots anymore. Get the US and her allies OUT of the corrupt UN.

He's lived in Liberal Lala-Land his whole life. Reality is not allowed to intrude and disrupt his 'politically correct' view of the world, doncha know.

France and Germany did not act very well in the run up to the Iraq War that is for sure.

However, I think it is foolhardy to suddenly declare them "enemies of our Republic" and write them off entirely.

How soon people forget that after America, France contributed the most to both the War in Afghanistan AND to the first Gulf War.

Think about it....with the proper handling, France might have been made to come around.
