"If George Bush were to be re-elected -- given the way that he has gone about this war, and given the avoidance of responsibility in North Korea, Iran and other places -- it is possible ." --John Kerry, shamelessly scaring grandparents and parents that their kids would soon be marching off to a quagmire. He followed up with a real shocker: "I will tell you this: I will not reinstate the draft." To boot, Kerry's "Bush-might-reinstate-the-draft" rhetoric is already the talk on university campuses across the nation.

Finally, an adept campaign maneuver from the Kerry team? Almost, but not quite.

The truth is, there really is legislation currently pending in both chambers of Congress to reinstate the draft in the spring of 2005. SS-89 and HR-163 are sponsored by Sen. Ernest Hollings and Rep. Charles Rangel, respectively -- BOTH lefty Democrats and BOTH supporters of our very own John F. Kerry.

This bears repeating......the draft will be reinstated due to the DEMOCRATS.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Rengel and Hollins have been trying to reinstate the draft for two years, and most of the people in Congress don't want anything to do with it.

But they've succeeded in getting one poster here to look at the evidence and tell us it's BUSH who wants to re-instate the draft.

Buried in the sand along with their heads. LOL. This is one of those things where if liberals ignore it, then it doesn't exist. It's that double standard 'thang' that's been happening a lot lately within the Kerry camp and the liberal bastion (the DNC) in general. The shrillness from the liberals is getting quite deafening. How do you say 'meltdown' in Dutch? Heehee.

I learned via a "much needed civics-lesson" by dablacksox, that it doesn't matter who introduces a bill. In our pol.system it very múch matters whó/which party

He taught you correctly regarding the petty, small-mindedness of the DNC. Education reform was their baby until the president made it his priority. Now they can't say anything good about it. It didn't matter when they 'owned' the 'education reform idea' that funding would be a problem. NOW, they are screaming that funding is a problem. Next is the mandatory drug Rx fiasco. I was mad that the president signed it into law knowing full well that, again, funding would be a problem. When the Dems proposed it, funding was NOT a problem. Now, voila! it's a problem.

The DNC don't believe that ultimately, the good of all should rise above petty egos. No matter how good a law is, if it's introduced by a NON-DEMOCRAT, then it can't be good AT ALL. This proves that they don't care about ordinary citizens. All else is second to the almighty DNC and its agenda.
