The same as Kerry's supporters say about his admission that he wasn't wounded by enemy fire for his first purple heart (when he applied, he said that he had been), his hero status in North Vietnam, his Christmas in Cambodia lie, etc.

-- that they're all a Republican smear campaign!!!

Gotta love campaigning, Goebbels style!

As I said in another thread, all he had to do was excuse himself politely and calmly tend to the business the Commander in Chief should be about when we are under attack. Unless you think he was not capable of that.

I don't use leftist buzzwords unless they fit. I've voted for almost as many Republicans over the years as Democrats, and I consider myself an Independent.

It's hard to know how liberals' thought processes work. They tend towards the illogical. The basic rule is Democrats hold themselves to a double-standard where anything and everything can be explained away depending upon political expediency/gain.

I have seen a lot of the double standard issue being applied, but I must say that Democrats do not have a monopoly on that issue.

Kerry supporters say nothing about that, because Kerry neither said, nor "admitted" such a thing. Here's the transcript. Please realize that when he says "sat down at the table" he's not talking about a table in the cafeteria, or the lounge. They sat down and tried to conduct their planned meeting, and found that in the face of a terrorist attack on NY (it was before they were aware of the threat to Washington) they found it very difficult to concentrate on the meeting at hand. As I've said to CL-Whren when she was promoting this story all over the place, if Republicans really wanted to get any mileage out of this, they would have focused on the fact that Kerry and the Dem's tried to conduct business as usual in the face of a modern day Pearl Harbor. Instead, we have knowlegable adults asserting that Kerry was drooling and catatonic. Heaven help us.

I'd like to point out that Kerry, who like Bush, is a pilot, knew immediately upon hearing of the first plane, that it was an attack - not pilot error. President Bush, upon learning of the first plane BEFORE he entered the classroom, opined "that's one bad pilot." It was obvious to George Tenent too, who upon learning has reported he thought "I hope this doesn't have anything to do with that guy trying to take flight lessons." Why did Bush proceed with a photo op? Is he really this dim witted? If not, why is he sticking with this story? If he doesn't stick to it, how can he explain reading "My Pet Goat" with kids during the worst crisis in 50 years? Anyway...here's what Kerry said. Are you still "undecided'?

http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0407/08/lkl.00.html

"KING: Where were you?

KERRY: I was in the Capitol. We'd just had a meeting -- we'd just come into a leadership meeting in Tom Daschle's office, looking out at the Capitol. And as I came in, Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon. And then word came from the White House, they were evacuating, and we were to evacuate, and so we immediately began the evacuation.

HEINZ KERRY: You walked out with John McCain, didn't you?

KERRY: Yes.

KING: You and what?

HEINZ KERRY: He and John walked out together.

KING: He and John McCain walked out -- what did you think?

Did you think...

(CROSSTALK)

KERRY: I knew instantaneously...

KING: Clinton said he though bin Laden.

KERRY: I knew instantaneously with the first. I'm a pilot, and I looked at the weather, and it's what we call in pilot lingo CAVU, ceiling and visibility unlimited. And I knew that that plane did not fly into that building accidentally, as people were speculating. It just doesn't happen, could not, under those circumstances. So I knew it was deliberate, whether it was suicide, whether it was something -- I couldn't tell. When the second plane hit, it was obvious to the world.

And as we went out of the building, my immediately feeling was, we're at war. I mean, that was the sense, that we are under attack. People are attacking the United States of America and we needed to respond."

Categorically refuted, except for where the author of the stuff you posted says Moore makes some "valid points" and that "the facts are disputable."

"On two issues (Afghanistan's President Karzai; John Ashcroft's pre-9/11 attitude towards terrorism) Moore's response makes some valid points; not necessarily that Fahrenheit is right on these facts, but at least the facts are disputable."

Seems like this guy has his mind just a few degrees too open to join your club.
