<<I'm more-so for seperating the Church and the State (like you should)>>

The constitution precludes the establishment of a state religion. No party or politician would advocate such a thing. How much religion affects public discourse and what the interaction of religion & governenment should be is open to debate as long as it is constitutional, as it should be.

<<pro-choice and the envoriment for a few examples.>>

Issues that are important to young, single types, but fall further and further down on the list of priorities as people mature and take on more responsibilities.

I haven't been single for a long time, I have two children and I have a career where I am surronded by Republicans. I have not changed my view's as I have "matured".

Not in my household, I worry about those issues more now that I have children. What kind of enviroment will my children inherit? How would if effect my daughter if womens right to choose were taken away. The only way I have become more conservative with my older age is...dress codes, understanding why there is a death penalty, understanding why we can not have an outright ban on guns...those kind of things I have matured on. But to say that once I matured I would change to republican is just laughable.

You have no way of knowing what Gore would have done, & you have no basis for saying he wouldn't do anything different. There are lots of possible scenarios, Gore might have called in the FBI & quizzed them after talking to Tenet in the summer of 2001, so it is possible Gore could have obtained the info about flight schools from the FBI.

I do realize the FBI cleared the Saudi's to leave. I don't believe it was done without the knowledge & consent of W.

I know, my father, a staunch conservative Republican, has been saying that for years: that I would change my views when I got older! Well, I've been married almost 15 years and am pushing 40----so when is this miraculous change going to happen???? :-) Most of the people in our DFA group, and other committees are old married folks too!

And like you, foxwen, I'm also even MORE a believer in liberal causes now that I have children of my own.... Environmental issues and keeping the earth protected and liveable play a large part in who gets my vote. And from what I've seen, Bush isn't very environmentally friendly, so I'm willing to give someone else a chance.

<<^^^^Bush did not win, he was appointed by the Supreme Court.>>

Nope, he was "appointed" by the Electoral College, which seemed to have worked fine for over 200 years until the Rather-heads told us that we elected the "wrong" man in 2000.

Really, you should study the electoral process a little better and not depend on CBS for their interpretation of American politics.

<<"Uncovered"---not sure where my husband got a copy of "Uncovered", but he's made numerous copies of OUR copy and handed them out at political events he attends! >>

Oh, your husband knows the producer and has obtained permission to disseminate copies?

Otherwise, this may very well be a felony.

>>I doubt he lied, he most likely mis-spoke<<

If he'd only said it once, I might be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't lie and merely "mis-spoke".

On at least two separate occasions Bush has told this lie about his pilot-error musings after watching the first plane hit the WTC before he found out about the second strike.

Why did he lie about this?

What else is he "mis-speaking" about?

Good for you; you are not the norm. Many of those Republicans you are surrounded by probably voted at least somewhat differently when they were younger & freer.

I certainly wouldn't say that anyone thinks the environment or abortion (whichever side one comes down on them)

Gosh thanks for your concern, janeigh, but I got some info from my husband this morning. The DVD he has is the original version, titled: "Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War", which came out in March. There is a new, updated version coming out on Oct.19, with the new title: "Uncovered: The War on Iraq", with 30 minutes of new footage! It's part of a three part "Un" series, including "Unprecedented" and "Unconstitutional." I'm sure you'll want to reserve your copy at www.publicinterestpictures.org ! Turns out that wasn't the disc he'd been handing out at rallies, though........
