So, what did everybody think? This debate was my first (missed last yr's) and I enjoyed it. I liked how they were both respectful to each other and professional. No sighing, making facial expressions, slouching etc. I can't wait for the vp debates. :) XOXO.

What is YOUR definition of *last resort*? Just curious.

If I didn't know better independentgrrl I'd say you didn't enjoy the debate last night.

;)

Out of interest, can you name one other US administration that has pursued tax cuts while fighting a war?

How did it show? >

The big one-he continues to claim both that Saddam was a grave threat, and that the president misled the country about the threat of Saddam. So which is it?

Yup Bush is tired from all the hard work.

Imagine how tired he'd be if he didn't spend 40% of his term on vacation!!!

By last resort I meant after the other conditions Bush promised the House in exchange for passing the bill authorizing force in Iraq was exhausted.

1. Build a coalition

2. Bring a second vote before the UN.

3. Use force as a last result.

Bush arranged a coalition (not as big a committment of troops as his Daddy mustered for the Gulf War in '91 mind you) but I'll give him an E for effort.

So that only left bringing a second vote before the UN.

He promised the House he would and they based their endorsement of use of force in Iraq on those promises.

He broke this promise. He never brought a second vote before the UN.

He skipped ahead to the use of force.

You really were rattled by last night's debate.

Don't worry, your boy still has two more chances to redeem himself.

Mind you this was supposed to be Bush's strongest area.

Oh well.

This time next week Bush will be live in front of the cameras again.

But he'll have to answer unscripted questions from the crowd in a town hall format.

Where's Bush's loyalty oaths when he needs them most??

Catch General Tommy Frank's remarks and he will clear it up for those who want to know about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. Also Kerry made several mistakes. He said Bin Laden was in Afghanistan when the CIA said he is in Pakistan. He also stated that he would form alliances (already done). We don't need the UN as they have been filtering money for the Iraqis food supply into their own bank accounts and Russia, France, and China were aiding Saddam. Also he was wrong on Korea. We have plans in place now for North Korea and Iran was sanctioned in the Clinton administration and Bush has continued it.
