So, what did everybody think? This debate was my first (missed last yr's) and I enjoyed it. I liked how they were both respectful to each other and professional. No sighing, making facial expressions, slouching etc. I can't wait for the vp debates. :) XOXO.

That was a great post and very respectfully written.

Oh man, what a terrible task. It must have been very hard for him. This really brings home the reality of what happened on that day.

Yes. He has since retired, the whole thing made him depressed. He still had to keep up with other duties in addition to those 12 hour days. He is now working as a security gaurd at a college and enjoying it.

And please don't forget the death of countless innocent Iraqi civilians.

Can you imagine being a woman living in Iraq today, scared to death to send your children to school in fear that they could be shot dead or blown up leaving or coming? that is IF school is even open, or THERE anymore (not blown up). Watching your beloved husband sign up for the Iraqi police force as a very last resort (because he's searched for months and months for a different line of work to no avail , knowing his life is very much in jeopardy by taking such a position. I'm sorry but Iraqi women are suffering a whole new list of woes thanks to our administration. And let it be saidfor the 1,000,000th time, this is not a criticism of our troops, but instead the current administration. Please stop confusing the two.

Historically, the French have cut and run whenever they got the chance.

I notice that you mention Vietnam. Are you aware that the only reason the US became involved in Vietnam was to get the French out of there? As soon as we arrived, the French said au revoir.

Weren't they involved in Algeria due to the fact that Algeria was at one time a French colony?

The reason France is not involved is because of their duplicity in the Oil for Food program and the fact that they were selling arms and ammunition to France, in direct violation of several resolutions and the UN embargo after the first Gulf War.

The terrorists will truly mourn if Bush is re-elected as they will have another 4 years of fighting on their hands.

I applaud you on your valid points and sense of humor—

"Too bad Bush ran off like a kid with ADD & attacked Iraq, drawing resources & attention away from Bin Laden. "

"As for freedom for the Iraqi people, nice idea, but now about 13 thousand of them are dead & will never be free. "

"What about all the other countries around the world that need freedom? Will we be bringing freedom to all of them? In what order? Alphabetically or according to how much oil they have?"
