Do Americans really want a "pretty boy" with no substantive experience in foreign affiars who can't even be bothered to show up for intelligence committee meetings to be one heartbeat away from the presidency?

Strength and determination are sexy! If I were in a life/death situation and had to choose between Bush/Cheney or Kerry/Edwards to save me. . .no question: Bush/Cheney. Kerry wouldn't be able to decide on a plan and would bail if the going got tough; Edwards would follow him around like a little puppy. Neither Bush nor Cheney would back down or quit until I was safe. That is the essence of this election.

Bush: where are his strengths, he failed in all, even the economy, he is biggest environmental ennemy in the world, he is most catastrophic in healthcare, he has no vision for peace. He sets the life of my American friend constantly in danger. He makes other American friends of mine angry. Heck, can`t you refuse?

he is sending people in war, most people in prisons are black. Guantanamo, Iraq there are tortures again and again. People can`t write what they want, my friend can`t even say where he is working-uhhhh dear CIA.

All people hate occupation and tortures.

I don`t trust Bushi lies a bit.

Unemployment in the U.S. is now lower than in the 80's and 90's; our economy is growing with more persons owning their own homes than ever before in our history. The U.S. has the best health and university systems in the world with persons from all over the world coming here to utilize those systems. Our army is an all-volunteer army and everyone I know is proud of the young men and women who serve. Despite a horrendous terrorist attack that killed over three thousand innocent persons, our country is thriving and confident. We have a "can-do" President who responded to 9/11 by taking the war to the terrorists - the best defense being a good offense. The isolated incidents of mistreatment of prisoners in Iraq have been condemned by our entire government and those involved are being tried and punished - - contrast this with the failure of the international community to express horror at the beheadings of innocents and the slaughter of school children. Saddam - who enriched himself with funds intended to feed the Iraqi people even as babies died/who murdered entire villages/who tortured and raped -is in prison and awaiting trial; the U.S. is rebuilding the infrastructure of Iraq and actively working to turn all control over to a freely elected government. Where is your disdain for the French/Chinese/Russians who covertly supported Saddam, sold him weapons and encouraged him to defy the UN? Where is your scorn for the UN officials who participated in theft from the food for oil program? Where is your anger at Muslim leaders who refuse to condemn the beheading of innocents, the slaughter of school children, genocide in the Sudan?

you have to all in whole. American politics are influencing very much of the world. Try to see the cause/roots. If you won`t you won`t help anyone

American hospitals are incredibly expensive and not everybody has the best healthcare.

I know that, because I have epilepsy, but you apparently not.

I'm sorry, but what does the fact that most people in prisons are black have to do with President Bush? As for your friend in the CIA not being able to tell people what he does for a living .... do you really think he should, if it would affect national security? My brother has worked for several defense contractors and isn't allowed to talk about his job either. He accepts it because it is for the greater good of the country, and he knows if he wants a job he's allowed to talk about he can always go work in the private sector.

I am sorry all is not well in your life. However, hating and resenting Americans will not improve your situation. It is undoubtedly true that political leaders elsewhere would like to divert the attention of their citizens from the problems in their own country by blaming the United States for everything that is wrong in the known universe. . .if nothing else it diverts energy from the forces of change in their own countries. The U.S. prospers because it values freedom, because it encourages competition, because it fosters a delicate balance between respect for diversity and common cultural values, and because whatever their status at birth - all U.S. citizens have an opportunity to improve their life and the lives of their children. We are not a perfect nation, but we are a very good nation. Work to make your country what you wish, but remember - you do not have to tear us down to build yourself up!

I don't have much confidence in Edwards (or in Kerry) but anything is better than Cheney.
