Debate reflections...

I'll be brief... Bush did not look like he wished to be elsewhere tonight. Beyond that, Kerry again wins. An incumbent should have an advantage; they live the issues daily. Kerry clearly bested him on so many things. Bush also showed arrogance by talking over Charles Gibson.

Bush is in deep doo doo.

Am looking at a poll on MSNBC that shows Kerry 74-26% currently. Kerry comes across as a president, in his appearance, his demeanor, his knowledge... it will take something *huge* for Bush to be reelected now.

I can understand that from a record standpoint, but the president failed to nail Kerry on his record, even though he tried. Kerry shot him down each time.

I don't know...to me this just seems like he tries to please everyone--but it backfires on him. I guess that's why it feels like I can't trust him. I never know when his views will change. Considering the first question asked tonight, others obviously feel the same way I do about it.

I missed a lot of it, it comes on at 6pm here, and I'm still busy with my daughters then....Did they talk about the environment? That's one of my pet issues, I hate the ironically named "Clear Skies Initiative" and wondered if that came up, or any other environmental issues? Anyone know where I can read the transcript?

You can actually watch the whole debate online at MSNBC.com. And yes, that did come up.

It did come up, and Bush cited it as a positive, Kerry shot it down as a step backward. Of course Bush would try to spin it positively, but his environmental record is not good.

Bush looked defensive and angry at times tonight.

I thought he was going to take a swing at Gibson for a second there.

All the online polls are favoring Kerry.

I do agree that Bush did do better this time. It was more of a debate than anything. I thought it was VERY rude of Bush going against the moderator (Gibson was his name?) when he wanted to go on but Bush just wanted to speak. Kerry wanted to do that once but the moderator wanted to go on and Kerry respected that even though he wanted his time to say something, but Kerry had respect. That shows a lot to me.
