Debate reflections...

I'll be brief... Bush did not look like he wished to be elsewhere tonight. Beyond that, Kerry again wins. An incumbent should have an advantage; they live the issues daily. Kerry clearly bested him on so many things. Bush also showed arrogance by talking over Charles Gibson.

Bush is in deep doo doo.

"I don't know...to me this just seems like he tries to please everyone--but it backfires on him. I guess that's why it feels like I can't trust him."

Perhaps it seems that way because that is what the Bush administration would have you believe and there you are with your fork and spoon ready to eat it up.

Kerry is the one who has made it clear that he is NOT going to try to please the super rich, it is Bush that tries to say he is "for" the middle class, and that he is "for" the children, "for" healthcare. Bush is trying to please everyone, but we already know he can't. He wont.

I agree... when Kerry gave the example, Bush had just finished acting like he had no idea this concerns people... much like his dad not knowing supermarket prices. These little things say much about the man.

Yes, I think Bush interrupting and being forceful about saying what he needed to say, he seemed desparate. Probably because he knows he will forget if he waits too long.

Bush just comes off as a person of VERY limited intellect who spent his life surrounded by people who are much more capable and intelligent than he. I think he is a loser.

So no one else saw that meter thing, eh??? I guess no one else was watching CNN FN!!! I have Directv, so most of my news channels are grouped together (in the 300s), and I saw CNN and Bush & Kerry, so just kept it on that channel!!!! Realized later that my REAL CNN is way back on Ch. 202! (Makes no sense...) Oh well, as I said, I was in and out so I did miss a lot of it....maybe I'm losing my mind! It did say Audience Response at the top and had one line for men, and one line for women.......wonder if it was like a polygraph, measuring physiologic responses?? Strange....

On the contrary, the Bush administration didn't have to do anything to make me feel this way. I call it like I see it, and I still don't see Kerry doing anything to make me feel like he has strong conviction for anything. Every time he talks about an issue he plays both sides. I keep waiting for him to take a real stand on one side or the other, but he never does...if he could at least do that, then maybe I could at least respect him.

and you don't think Bush does that? HM. Isnt that a typical thing that politicians do? they try ot kiss all the babies, and shake all the hands? I grew up with that idea anyway.

Unless you are directly involved with the candidate in question, you cannot call it like you see it, you can only call it like your sources of information present it.

Bush did better in this debate than the first, but he is still on the defensive because he has to be. The problem is he thinks that he has made all the right decisions and that he is leading this country in the right direction, when the truth is he is running this country into the ground economically, and other countries hate us for being bullies. He also lied to us about Iraq, etc. I wonder if he took notes from Cheney or whether he was coached on this debate, as in his response saying that Kerry and Edwards don't show up in senate to vote.

I agree with you also about Bush being arrogant in his actions with Charles Gibson. Hopefully undecided voters saw this and have chosen a more respectful and caring Kerry.

Only a few more weeks til a change for the better!
