Hello There!

I am very new to this board but have found most of the information I have read to be informative and thought provoking.

In regards to the election coming in November, I have one question that still plagues my mind.

What is more beneficial to our country?

A candidate (George W) who has not striven to settle doubts about whether he has been a good, effective and knowledgable president.

or

A candidate (John Kerry) who has not proven to hold many realistic promises for his idea of "a stronger America"

I am an independant, this year to be the first year that I have found myself devoting ample amounts of time to deciphering the actual "truths" (although I must admit, the spin has got me quite confused) through media left/right biased, to independant sources.

For all of you who seem to share similar ideologies with either one of the candidates, what can you provide me as an independant, without using slanderous rhetoric, in regards to supplying me with more information. And for those of you who feel or think strongly in regards to a particular party or the other, please supply me with good arguments as to why your candidate is the best fitted for the job. I strongly request negative comments about the other candidate to remain low, for believe you me, I have heard it all. What are each candidate's stregths.

Thank you

I look forward to hearing from ya'll

"And where have you been all this time. The first hint of Bush "bashing" and you come out.:) "

this is exactly why I avoid these threads. So far everytime an 'independent' has come here asking for responses from both sides, one side ends up with sarcastic comments being thrown at them. I was on line last night, and in reading this thread came upon the first request for feedback and then about the 4th or 5th post a 'thank you for your responses, where is the other side?....' comment. I see that I was correct.

And judging from post 20 in this thread, it's clear that some folks can't resist even after they've been asked to refrain! Ah well, some of us have more self-control than others, I guess.

Hi Rainy,

I support John Kerry for President.

The last time anyone listened to a Bush, they were lost for 40 years!   Looks like we're doomed to "wander" ano

I apologize if my post came across as sarcastic. If you read all the posts prior to that response, all I recieved was support towards Kerry. I am glad that I recieved posts that were pro-Bush, how else am I to make a fair assessment of both candidates. If you took my tone as being rude or sarcastic, it wasn't meant to be. Now, I have read other message boards in regards to pro-bush support. Can you elaborate why it is that you believe Bush to be the better man for the presidency in words that do not attack Kerry? I did not intend my posts to be democratic/repubican based. I just want to gather information for my confused self. Why is it that I have been recieving negative feedback about my inquiries? It is my understanding that these posts are for information and inquiries. How is it that I ruffled feathers with just a simple request. If you have read my responses, they are very fair. With every question regarding Bush's demeanor as president, I have also countered with one similar towards Kerry. So please do not question my motives, as they are just one of a person deeply concerned for our country's future..as I assume we all are.

I honestly really like McCain. I wish he were in the White House right now. I think he would make a wonderful president!

"I truely wish that McCain was running against Lieberman.  They are two people with integrity and long lives of public service and we would not have this character assasination and terrible distortions because they are honorable."

Eh, they'd still find stuff to blast each other on. Wasn't McCain's supposedly hot temper an issue in the last election? And I recall Bush found some other stuff to blast him on, including his Vietnam service.

Who isn't being criticized for their vietnam service? **chuckle** If you fought in the war, you must have done something wrong, if you were part of the national guard, than you must be a coward. **sigh** There's got to be more to each of these candidates than what they may or may not have done during their service in Vietnam. I don't think anybody can judge the actions or mentality during that time..a very confusing and changeable era in our history. In our public's scrutiny, heroes are made villains. It's a shame
