McCain and Bin Laden

I have a question. A few weeks ago, John McCain - in the process of criticizing Barack Obama's war stances - told Wolf Blitzer that he (McCain) knew how to "get" Bin Laden. Specifically, he said:

Look, I know the area, I've been there, I know wars, I know how to win wars, and I know how to improve our capabilities so that we will capture Osama bin Laden -- or put it this way, bring him to justice... We will do it, I know how to do it.

Which got me thinking....with whom is John McCain willing to share this information, this knowledge, this unique skill? I mean, let's face it, since September 12, 2001, Bin Laden has occupied the top slot on the "most wanted" list for America. Everyone from Bush on down wants him caught - bad. So far, he's eluded Bush. But McCain's claimed in no uncertain terms that he KNOWS (not just suspects or thinks, KNOWS) how to bring Bin Laden to justice. My question is: why hasn't he shared this information with President Bush? I mean, if he KNOWS how to do it, unquestionably, what's stopping him from sharing this unique knowledge? Is he just selfishly using it to get himself elected, holding it out in front of the media and the electorate like a carrot on a string, but ONLY if you promise to elect HIM? Or has he ALREADY shared this information - this CERTAIN knowledge - with Bush. If so, why isn't Bin Laden in a grave or leg irons? Did Bush ignore McCain's foolproof, certain knowledge? Or did he try to implement it and it wasn't as foolproof as McCain claimed?

What happens if Obama wins in November? Will John McCain, a guy who KNOWS how to get Bin Laden, share that knowledge with President Obama? Or will he petulantly take his knowledge to the grave with him, allowing Bin Laden to wreak more deadly terror on Americans in the future? Is McCain really going to do that to the American public if they choose not to elect him -- like some little boy taking his ball and going home because people refused to play by his rules?

Why is John McCain withholding this information?

Everyone knows that McCain and Bush do not like each other. I'm not saying that McCain definitely knows how to get Bin Laden, but even if he did, I'm not sure President Bush would listen to him.

Remember when McCain said that Obama would rather lose a war than to lose an election?

Bush and McCain don't like one another? Coulda fooled me:

Of course, the response to that photo probably is along the lines of "oh, that was just politics." And I agree - it probably was "just politics."

But if so, then my question becomes: if Bush and McCain are both willing and able to put aside whatever animosity may exist between them for the purposes of political goals, are you saying that either or both would not (or could not) put it aside to catch the most dangerous, wanted man on the planet?

Seriously, if McCain "knows" - which is exactly the language he used - how to get Bin Laden, would animosity towards Bush - or Obama, for that matter, should he win this fall - really prevent him from potentially losing thousands more American lives to Bin Laden's terrorism and treachery? Or would Bush truly allow his own animosity towards McCain cause him to reject the knowledge of McCain, who KNOWS how to get Bin Laden?

Or is it, perhaps, more likely that McCain was completely full of crap when he stated that he "knows" how to get Bin Laden?

So, now you're disputing what McCain says????

I think that picture is hilarious. Every time I see it on the Obama ad I laugh.

I'm no expert, but I know President Bush has the most brilliant military minds at his disposal. I know he and McCain don't like each other. I really don't (this is just my opinion) think that he would listen to McCain if he said "Let me tell you how to do this". Again, I don't know if he really knows how or not.

I don't remember disputing anything McCain says. I said I don't know. I am not some sort of lap dog for John McCain. I am voting for him because he is the best of my two choices.

I am a two issue voter: National Security and Taxes. That is why I usually vote for Republicans. I voted for Bill Clinton once because he promised a middle class tax cut. Then he IMMEDIATELY raised my taxes. I will probably never vote for another Democrat for President because the world is much more dangerous now, and they lie about cutting taxes when they really want to raise them...

McCain is full of it. If he really know where to find Bin Laden and didn't share it with our Intelligence, then I really question his ability to be President. Oh, I se he's "saving it" until he becomes president?

It is pretty obvious to me that what McCain meant was that defeat of Bin Laden would come via military action - and that McCain has the expertise to pursue

Well, I think either Bin Laden is already dead and has been dead, OR he will never be able to bring him to justice. We miss our chance back in 2001. We didn't send enough troops there in the first place.

Perhaps he's just an egoist who wants to take full credit for Bin Laden's capture. He surely won't have to share any credit with Palin who only hunts moose.
