"pigs" & "lipstick"

I'm going to go out on a limb and start a new discussion here, because I think my comment will get lost in the shuffle on the other post on this topic.

I really do not think that Obama was specifically calling Sara Palin a "Pig".

I think he was trying to reiterate what he's been saying all along - that the Republicans look out for special interest groups and the rich....making them "pigs" in a sense, just like Corporate America - only looking out for their own personal wealth & the wealth of their few select good friends, making the rich richer & the poor poorer - - Having a hockeymom that wears lipstick in the whitehouse is not going to change that.  The "Republican Party" will still be "pigs" - lipstick or not.

Poor choice of words....yes.  Should he appologize - yes.  Is he correct when you look at it this way?  I think so........

It's an idiom in regular use, and has been as long as I can remember.

As I stated in the other posts. The McCain camp, the GOP, and the Karl Rove slander machine are ALL pigs. They have released an add that lies about Barack's bill protecting children. The slimy add says that Barack wants sex ed to be taught to kindergarteners! Disgusting, outrageous, and proof those people don't belong in any kind of public office or position of power.

McCain and his camp are all perverted and obnoxious. Lies are their M.O. I wish that Barack could sue them for slander and make them look like the pigs that they are. Sorry, pigs all over the world will be offended, but Barack called them as he saw them. Nasty lying idiots.

""""It was slightly inspired. You hardly ever get to hear a politician display a glimmer of caustic wit anymore. Mean-spirited sarcasm, yes. Wit, not so much. """""""

So true. Barack has been such a gentleman, but they just pushed him too far. I think Mccain needs to pull that crappy ad and apologize!

NO apologies at all!

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.

I agree that no apology is needed, since it is a common adage. On this morning's show, I truly could not believe that Kathy Lee Gifford

Hell, even Joe Scarborough, former Republican congressman from Florida, was on his show on MSNBC this morning, saying it was ridiculous to attack Obama as sexist over this.

Now in darkness, world stops turning
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling Begging
