Meghan McCain...

I would have posted this on the Only the McCain Family Knows thread, but I felt this was worthy of it's own thread.

I want to clarify my comments about my family "understanding war unlike any other". My family understands the demands of war, in reference to our family's generations of service to the nation, including that of my grandfather, father and brothers. But obviously, there are many American families that have made, and are making, the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of defending freedom. And those families and those sacrifices should be honored above all else. I regret my comments as they were delivered. I certainly did not mean to diminish the sobering fact of these families' sacrifices in any way.

If nothing else, I hope this brings greater attention to the suffering these families endure when the unthinkable happens. I will certainly work to do a better job of calming my own nerves while being a newcomer on the media circuit. And thanks to everyones' kind words of support throughout the day.

Maybe that was spoon fed by Rove too eh ohearto? ;O)

Huh. Even her apology is less than convincing. Now her reference is to generations of her family who have served. Guess what. If my daughter were writing this, she'd ALSO be able to note the service of her two grandfathers, her father, and her brother. Meghan needs a therapeutic dope smack.

It wouldn't matter what she said in her apology...the left has an ax to grind and they are going to do just that.

The LEFT?!?! Oh, I don't think so! Anybody with a loved one in a combat zone would have gasped in outrage at her gross insensitivity. And I doubt you would be so willing to forgive and forget had it been a Democrat making the same sort of asinine comment.

No...those that listened to that entire interview know that what she said (within context) was correct.
