Should Politicians Ban Books That Are Decadent Or Unconventional?

  • No. People should decide for themselves what they want to read.
  • Yes. I'm with Sara Palin. Ban the books that endanger our minds.

What a ridiculous poll. Sarah Palin has never banned any books, or said she wanted to ban any books. I think it is dishonest to put, "I am with Sarah Palin - ban the books" as one of the choices. Seems pretty desperate to me.

Palin showed a clear interest in pursuing certain "options".

Nothing came of it because people stood up to her bullying and she had to back down at first. As another poster said, we have no way of knowing if the current librarian has a list of proscribed books or not.

I repeat, "Would you be equally comfortable with a Democrat asking about restricting access to something like the Bible?"

First of all, exactly which politician banned books?

Where did I say I was comfortable with censorship? Oh that's right...I didn't, you just made that part up; how quaint.

I don't support any form of censorship or book banning so I'm not "comfortable" with it. I don't believe that Sarah Palin censored any books or wanted to censor any books; there is no clear evidence to prove that she in fact did want to censor books. Because there is no EVIDENCE to prove the original accusation, I'm not going to get my boxers in a bunch over some Liberal partisan hack making a stupid and silly accusation (I'm sure Kilkenny is loving her 15 minutes). You on the other hand are more than welcome to get your panties in a bunch over unfounded accusations...That's the beauty of America.

{"I repeat, "Would you be equally comfortable with a Democrat asking about restricting access to something like the Bible?"}

If there was no proof of said actions, if it was just unfounded accusations, innuendos and twisting of reality by conservative partisan hacks, I'd ignore it like I'm ignoring the Palin nonsense.

Huh? I didn't use the word "censorship". Apparently, "you just made that part up; how quaint."

I wonder what you consider "proof". Kinda like George with the PDB which indicated that Osama Bin Ladin wanted to strike within the U.S. Seven years ago today, we got that "proof" but it was too late for thousands of people.

Those who want to restrict rights of free speech aren't as physically deadly but the impact of their actions on democracy is NOT salubrious, regardless of the state of your boxers!
