McCain's Bounce Over by brownsox

DemFromCT sagely noted on Monday that the post-convention bounce for Obama was not seen fully in tracking polls until the Tuesday after the Democratic convention, and that by this time in the week, we might see the completion of McCain's bounce.
It appears this is true for John McCain's post-convention bounce. Now the numbers have stabilized, and we can see the bounce in full.
Rasmussen: Numbers are Wed (Tue) (Mon) (Sun) (Sat) (Fri) (Thu).
Rep Convention
Obama 48 (48) (47) (48) (49) (48) (50)
McCain 47 (48) (48) (48) (46) (46) (45)
Obama's a point up now, after being tied the previous day, and a point behind on Monday. It seems that McCain is finished bouncing (though the flipping and flopping ought to continue for some time).
Gallup's numbers also show the race having stabilized (though unlike Rasmussen, they show a five-point advantage for McCain; Gallup also showed a larger Obama bounce after the Democratic convention).
Gallup: Numbers are Wed (Tue) (Mon) (Sun) (Sat) (Fri) (Thu).
Rep Convention Bounce
Obama 43 (44) (44) (45) (47) (48) (49)
McCain 48 (49) (49) (48) (45) (44) (42)
Diageo/Hotline's numbers show a tie, like Rasmussen's. They also agree: the bounce is over. They don't publish on weekends, but they show for Monday-Wednesday:
Obama 45 (44) (44)
McCain 45 (45) (44)
The numbers don't appear to be moving much. McCain's bounce, significant though it was, appears to be over. Per Rasmussen and Diageo/Hotline, the race is still tied or very close. That isn't bad news for Obama.
