Palin stalked by wolves!

Just in case you were hoping that Bill O'Reilly's dismissal of the porcine cosmetics piffle might prove the canary in the coal mine for the Republicans' whatever-sticks-to-the-wall messaging approach, behold this latest gem . . .
So you reckon those wolves were dropped from the plane, or just trying to get away before they're in rifle range? It seems a risky metaphor to me.
I'm sorry, but I have to believe this is eating JM up inside. What's next? "I'm John McCain and I approved this laxative commercial"?

Ooooh boy.
I suppose Sarah wouldn't stand for the helpless female bound-and-gagged on the train tracks as the huffing and puffing of the Express can be heard in the distance. Otherwise, this is sheer emotionalism, pandering in part to gender roles like male protection of the female under attack; and current female empowerment. I couldn't watch the YouTube clip, but if the ad is running at all, will probably see it. Poor me. Live in New Mexico. Swing state+cheap air time=lots of nauseating ads!
McCain is pandering and pushing emotional buttons, not engaging brains. Unfortunately, it might just work given the general mental sloth and ignorance of so many U.S. voters.

If you were having technical difficulties with the clip, you might have better luck here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pPAdN6XQG0
Me, I'm just disappointed they didn't have a shot of Sarah in a pretty red hood.
I am gonna get so flaaaamed.
Let's take that hood idea one step further--Sarah in a red hood over a skirted suit in heels, with a pointed AK47 in one hand, and a Bible held out in the other, lightning bolts shooting out of her eyes..... Now there's an image to consider and just think of all the various groups it would work with--executive working women, right to carry NRA members, fundamentalist Christians, adolescent males, young adult males, middle-aged males, geezer males.....!
It's not that the links from YouTube won't work, it's the excruciatingly slow pace of a dial-up connection. Video clips are simply out of the question.

Yup, McCain's strategy was to pick a neophyte, unvetted female politician to suck up disaffected Hillary voters (an insult to them if you think about how diametrically opposed Palin is to them on every issue) and to create a huge distraction from the issues, like the fact that his and Bush's policies are a flop.
McCain's strategy was to pick a VP that would help his campaign rather than picking the best one to help America. I'll say it before and I'll say it again, his slogan at his convention should have been America Last.
This is irony. Yes?

Wolf Control in Alaska
Wolves and bears are very effective and efficient predators on caribou, moose, deer and other wildlife. In most of Alaska, humans also rely on the same species for food. In Alaska's Interior, predators kill more than 80 percent of the moose and caribou that die during an average year, while humans kill less than 10 percent. In most of the state, predation holds prey populations at levels far below what could be supported by the habitat in the area. Predation is an important part of the ecosystem, and all ADF&G wolf management programs, including control programs, are designed to sustain wolf populations in the future.
The Alaska Board of Game approves wildlife regulations through a public participation process. When the Board determines that people need more moose and/or caribou in a particular area, and restrictions on hunting aren't enough to allow prey populations to increase, predator control programs may be needed. Wolf hunting and trapping rarely reduces wolf numbers enough to increase prey numbers or harvests.
Currently, five wolf control programs are underway that comprises about 9.4% of Alaska's land area. The programs use a closely controlled permit system allowing aerial or same day airborne methods to remove wolves in designated areas. In these areas, wolf numbers will be temporarily reduced, but wolves will not be permanently eliminated from any area. Successful programs allow humans to take more moose, and healthy populations of wolves to continue to thrive in Alaska.
