Does no one care about the issues??

I read pages, and pages, of he said she said BUT every little about issues. Why is this?? Are the issues not important or have we become puppets in this presidential election?? I would like to think that we, as adults, are mature enough to focus on this issues for a change. So, with that said, what is the biggest ISSUE that concerns you in this election??

 Example of issues

economy

war

forecloses

immigration

of course there are more but this can get you started

Example of non-issue

who knows who

who wears what or may have been made fun of for doing so

what did their child do some warm April evening

of course there are more but these are examples

Please leave your comments about the candidates out of this thread and focus on THE ISSUES ONLY (see first list). There are 1000 thread focusing the other topics please address them there. Now lets have fun with who's plans for the issues are better and not who's lipstick is darker ;)

Thank you for making this post. I've tried to make similar posts, but threads on actual issues don't get many serious responses. There are many issues that are important to me, and one of them is the economy. I'm concerned that BOTH candidates want to increase spending by trillions (That is T as in trillion!) of dollars when we should be cutting spending. I'm concerned that companies (large and small) are cutting jobs and sending jobs to other countries. I'm also concerned about our energy crisis. I think we should continue to work on alternative energy plans, and those plans should include drilling here at home. That is just a start.

You are so right. Thank you for bringing that up. I did hear McCain's campaign director say a week or two ago

The Republicans care about the issue. They care about burying them so they can get elected. The last thing they want is you focusing on their failures during the Bush Administration and in their control of Congress.

I'm not too concerned with that because Congress will temper the next president's spending. That's a given. All parties never agree on everything and compromises are made.

I believe we can give up the fight in Iraq to save billions, (http://zfacts.com/p/447.html) and fix our economy without adding to our nation's deficit. Not all of Obama's plans will pass in the legislature, but maybe half will and that's a good start. If we put our unemployed auto workers to work in the wind and solar energy industries, we can slowly regain our manufacturing base and reach energy independence.

With McCain/Palin we'll just keep fighting war, after war after war. That also keeps people employed, but in the business of killing others. I'd rather we Americans be employed in the business of alternative energy and helping others. Just my personal preference.

I think that the economy is the voters' highest priority issue.

Sorry, but it ain't gonna happen.

90%, I repeat, 90% of women who learn that their fetuses have Down's syndrome choose abortion. Advances in technology have made it possible to detect birth defects early in a pregnancy. Sarah Palin made a choice to keep her baby. Not a right choice and not a wrong choice, but HER CHOICE! Every woman should be given that choice.

If Roe vs. Wade is overturned, then guns, wars and every other form of killing should be banned as well.

Who are you to kill one of God's deer, or rabbits, or mooses? In God's eyes is a human life really more sacred than that of a deer or a rabbit? Who get to decide those issues if not God?

Are you God?
