I read pages, and pages, of he said she said BUT every little about issues. Why is this?? Are the issues not important or have we become puppets in this presidential election?? I would like to think that we, as adults, are mature enough to focus on this issues for a change. So, with that said, what is the biggest ISSUE that concerns you in this election??
Example of issues
economy
war
forecloses
immigration
of course there are more but this can get you started
Example of non-issue
who knows who
who wears what or may have been made fun of for doing so
what did their child do some warm April evening
of course there are more but these are examples
Please leave your comments about the candidates out of this thread and focus on THE ISSUES ONLY (see first list). There are 1000 thread focusing the other topics please address them there. Now lets have fun with who's plans for the issues are better and not who's lipstick is darker ;)

You wrote: Have you seen Him? Are your sure He looks like a man and not like a deer?
But when He says, "My image", is he thinking mammal, or amphibian, or female, or male, or what? Someone has taught you what SHE/HE believes He means, but do you really know that the person who taught you is correct? How do you know?
My point is that to you abortion is an issue because of your religion--thou shalt not kill. To me war is an issue because of my religion--thou shalt not kill. See....everything gets muddled. What's an issue to you is not an issue to me, and vice versa. Maybe that's why we have a democracy and elect our leaders. We all care about the issues, but not always the same ones. Some of us choose to discuss the issues and some like to discuss "character".
We're different and diversity is a good thing. It keeps us sharp and interesting and constantly thinking. How boring would it be if everyone on this board agreed with you 100%?

I've seen/made plenty of posts about the economy, foreclosures, health care and the war on this board. (Haven't seen many on immigration.) Usually, from the title of the thread you can get a good idea of what it's about.
Here's a suggestion: Only open the ones that look like they're about the issues if that's what you'd like to discuss.
Sometimes they take a 180-degree turn, but you can choose to ignore at any point.
I agree, and do not like, that most of them are about what one candidate said or did. If you want to stop that kind of commenting, don't reply to those posts. That's more easily said than done; it's hard to refrain from 'protecting' the one we favor.

*** I read pages, and pages, of he said she said BUT every little about issues. Why is this?
Obviously we're interested in the issues, and they're debated ferociously here every day...admittedly, to little effect. The three primary issues that concern me the most are the economy, energy and national security. McCain has it all over Obama on the national security/foreign policy issue and also his position on energy. And with regard to the economy, Obama has revealed himself to be just another big-government-tax-and-spend Democrat...which is why I support McCain.
*** But when He says, "My image", is he thinking mammal, or amphibian, or female, or male, or what?
I think he was referring to the soul of man, not his physical nature...but that's my interpretation. But in any event, the word that used in Genesis was "man," not "deer" or "crocodile" and it's use is gender specific, making a distinction between "man" and "woman." Also, to date, there has been no "amphibian" version of "man" so at the very least, we should infer that God was speaking about mamilian humans.

*** 90%, I repeat, 90% of women who learn that their fetuses have Down's syndrome choose abortion.
What percentage of all abortions are performed because the baby has a demonstrable birth defect?
*** If Roe vs. Wade is overturned, then guns, wars and every other form of killing should be banned as well.
Because the right to kill your child for convenience is equitable with the right to defend yourself?
>>> Who are you to kill one of God's deer, or rabbits, or mooses? In God's eyes is a human life really more sacred than that of a deer or a rabbit? Who get to decide those issues if not God?
Yes...note the word "dominion"...and
Genesis: 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
