Repub Senator Calls Palin "Cocky Wacko"

"Former Rhode Island Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee has called vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin a "cocky wacko" and said her selection as John McCain's running mate has energized supporters of Democrat Barack Obama."

Thank goodness someone in the Republican Party had the guts to call it like it is. I predict this Palin myth will start wearing thin over the next few weeks. Want someone who is much more likely to start another needless war, this time with Russia no less? Vote McCain/Palin. At his age there's a good shot you'll get President Palin.

I am a RI and a supporter of Linc. I encouraged him to change parties while he was Senator, but he believed in the tradition of the Republican party of his father, of Rockefeller et al. When he lost, he finally realized that that party nolonger existed and it's a shame.
I wish more republicans were like Linc Chaffee.

<<"The character-number restrictions of title lines for posts here sometimes makes it difficult to convey the point of the thread succinctly enough to be understandable without making it completely illegible through over-abbreviation.">>....
Nonsense.
>"Chaffee Calls Palin 'Cocky Wacko'"< ... would have fit the title line perfectly well, ánd conveyed the point of the article, ánd be accurate as Chaffee IS not a "Repub Senator".
I'm a Republican who doesn't vote b/c a candidate is Republican, I've often voted for Democrat.
I think they're OK with that kind of a disparity, LOL.

I can not vote for McCain/Palin because they will, even if they say they won't continue with the BUSH Doctrine. How Bush was able to get a doctrin is beyond me. He should have been impeached, but the Democrats were too wishy-washy, or even if they had tried, they probably would of got enough votes to make it happen.
I don't believe that the McCains healthcare plan will work without costing my Dh more money for our coverage which isn't the best and is costing us 4,000 a year, plus all the co-pays. If the full amount that we pay and his employer pay is taxed, i just don't trust how this will pan out. I don't believe that McCain will be able to do what he wants to do in giving bact 5,000 for families and 2000 for individuals. I don't like it. With Bush's tax breaks, we got very little to speak of, and people making millions got a windfall. Nope, I won't vote Republican, we are not wealthy and never will be. don't even go there with me on the VALUES, that is the biggest bunch of bunkl After what Bush has done? Values schmalues!
I agree.
Unfortunately, with the way the doctrinaire conservatives have hijacked the GOP, if more Republicans were like Linc Chaffee.....they wouldn't be Republicans any more, just like him. And Susan Eisenhower.
On that topic for a moment: how effed up does a party have to be to lose a granddaughter of perhaps the most revered Republican President ever (save Lincoln), from a family which has been 100% Republican for generations? How badly off-track does the party have to be for her to follow up her "I can't bring myself to vote for George Bush, but I'm still a Republican" speech in 2004 with a "I can no longer in good conscience call myself a member of the Republican party any longer" speech this year? Make no mistake - she didn't run out and join the Democratic party....I suspect this is genuinely painful for her - not a decision easily or lightly arrived at, but one which carried with it a good deal of regret and psychological pain. And yet she did it - and became an independent, just like Chaffee, because she felt she HAD to; because she felt her grandfather, whom she knew well, would not recognize the party of today as the party he and his entire family had supported and been members of for so long.

Obama supporters...
I could be wrong, but I don't believe I've seen you posting here in these parts before. At least, I don't remember any posts from you.
I am a Democrat who has voted off-the-range in the past, as well, though in this election, I'm strongly in favor of the Obama/Biden ticket. Would you mind sharing with me your reasoning for arriving at your support for McCain/Palin? This is a genuine request, not bait for a slam. I will treat your answers with respect and politeness (assuming you don't call me, Democrats or Obama ridiculous names in your reply, LOL), should you be willing to answer me.
Thanks in advance, and nice to "meet" you. :o)

Are we having fun, yet? I can - and will - match you, stupid provocation for stupid provocation.
