Sarah Palin Interview

She was awful.  But I suppose her fans will makes more excuses and blame Charlie Gibson.

Gibson asked the questions she should already know the answers to, viewpoints that she should have already had long before being groomed by the McCain team.  To suggest that Gibson was purposefully rude or condescending is absurd – he was easy on her. He asked questions that Americans want and need to know their public officials- especially the second in command- know before taking oath.  Any frustration he might have experienced during this interview was because of her clear lack of familiarity with really important issues.  She tried to evade the questions, which will unavoidably lead a journalist to keep trying to get an answer. that's what they do!  She got defensive when he asked her if she had ever met a Head of State.

Was he supposed to ask her where she bought her shoes?  Or “what’s it like to be a pistol-packin hockey mom?”

Sarah Palin needs to learn the pronunciation of “nuclear”.  I believe we have just witnessed "Apocalipstick Now". Sarah Palin came across as both clueless and arrogant.  The party is over, the confetti is gone.  Since she’s so adamant about being “ready” to help lead the country she needs to get real.

I did go to his website and saw his committees...but I still do not believe he has what it takes to be President.

Biden has many more years of elective office than even McCain.

I also think this country is ready for a real person, that doesn't have to be totally rehearsed and we do not expect perfection.

I do. I read so much from both sides and it can all be so misleading. So all I have to go on is what actions the candidates take to make America better for all Americans. Not just standing on a platform of national security (he is on the homeland security committee), more importantly, bringing our priorities back home. The next president will not have an easy job helping us climb out of the hole which Bush has left. I think his sense of calm and his ability to solve problems in a methodical process will be an advantage when having to make the tough choices. I think he will be proactive not reactive. I want my candidate to roll up their sleeves and cry out for those who are being ignored. His community service in his legislative district, (I do volunteer myself for children and the arts), shows me his desire to make his community better. He may have started out solving problems in his community, however, if he is our president, I believe he will be a great example of what it is to be a real American helping America.

If you want a breadth of fresh air lower a window or move to the beach.

it's breath, not breadth... and you have your vote, but we all have our own vote, only November will tell how many voters agree, I will continue to hope people will be more 'civil'

As much as I enjoyed the 'tone' of most of the interview, I had some not-so-good opinions about many of Gov. Palin's responses. I distinctly remember sharing with my mother that we were in for a true pageant interview. My prediction was absolutely accurate. As a former participant and supporter of the Miss America Pageant System, I have to say that Palin exhibited many characteristics of some of our own. We are very strong and intelligent women, and I found during my years of competition that we surprised so many by our ability to talk about ANYTHING. With that said, Gov. Palin did just what pageant girls and journalists do--"answer" questions without ever answering the questions.
