The actual Sarah Palin quote
7
Fri, 09-12-2008 - 1:04am

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

I don't understand what others see wrong with this quote. Do politicians lose their freedom of religion just because they take office? When she said this, she was at her own church. She said, let's pray that what we're doing is right and that it is in the will of God. Of course she wants God's will to be done. What believer in God wouldn't?

Try reading it like this "...(let's pray) also, for this country that our leaders are sending (us) out on a task that is from God."

Hmmmm...you just posted what Palin said, and I think there's no issue there. Why, in your other thread, do you ask why people are not talking about the issues, when you, yourself, are not posting about the issues?

Maybe we both need to go to bed, LOL! Goodnight!

((Do politicians lose their freedom of religion just because they take office?))

I am not a theologian. So, I guess that with separation of church and state, Sarah can not put her belief before her "training/knowledge" as she carries out her duties as VP. So, short of doing nothing and praying to God, she should not fight a war in the name of God.

That "task from God" sounds as if she hopes the leaders are sending soldiers out on a task that is God's will?? Presuming to know Gods will? I don't know. Praying the leaders do the right thing? Probably. Now I see why church and state should be separated. lol.

Sounds like a "Crusade" type comment to me.

What is more telling is the way she tried to convince Charlie that she doesn't know the will of God. No one does, but she never finished the question that he asked. That is very telling. Changing the subject to talk about her son going off to war...sound familiar? Yep. She's li'l McCain. lol. Changing the subject is not allowed Sarah.

Palin's statement expresses sentiments also expressed by Lincoln and JFK.

Can you tell me a time that she "put her belief before her knowledge" in her duties as Governor? Palin was speaking to a church at the time.
