What can a candidate do to earn your vote?

The election is just around the corner. While some have already made up their minds, what do you traditionally look for in a candidate? Whether at the national or local level, what can a candidate do to earn your vote?

Sadly it looks like you don't have a candidate in this race.

1. Foremost PLEASE stick to the issues. The politics of personality are annoying to me and won't do our country any good.

2. Try to stick to the TRUTH.

Those are my top two. I am voting for Barak Obama. His plan for America seems more aligned with helping the middle class out rather then burying them. I also appreciate that he has tried to hold out and stay as positive as possible in his ads. I feel like he talks about the issues our country faces a lot more than Senator McCain.

How will the middle class be helped by attacking the corporations and businesses that employ and provide for them?

Lay out in black-and-white their plans for solving major problems, i.e., healthcare, social security, the economy, Iraq and so on. I realize that many plans will end up not working but I would at least like to hear something on the positive side, instead of the multitude of attack ads.

The candidate would need to be specific on their plan to revive this economy and also be detailed on what they are planing to do in Iraq. McCain isn't doing that, and I am personally tired of his excuses and misleading, untrue slander of the other candidate. Also, I don't think that he made an educated decision with picking Palin, she just seems so uninformed. The interview that she just had pretty much solitified that. So far, Obama has my vote.
