What can a candidate do to earn your vote?

The election is just around the corner. While some have already made up their minds, what do you traditionally look for in a candidate? Whether at the national or local level, what can a candidate do to earn your vote?

Cut taxes on the middle class like Obama wants to do. Tax cuts for the average American translates into more available cash spending power. Obama understands the problems facing this country the best and is the best person to solve them. He thinks about our problems and solutions and doesn't jump into decisions like Mc Cain does. My vote goes to Obama!

Middle America doesn't care about body language. John McCain was more sure of himself. Sarah Palin is frightening and soooo now what should we do? By Pamela

I will be voting for obama. I feel that this country needs a change from the 2 terms of the same bad choices. I saw the debate last night, and I feel that obama won the country over. Mccain could not even look obama in his face. He seemed to snicked a couple of times, and say a remark like obama doesnt understand the issues with the war. Well that is funny because nor does mccain vp palin. Mccain made the silly comment that he will not being sitting down with spain to discuess the issues that are going on in the world. Which is funny because spain is our allay. Like obama said if we cant talk to our allay who can we talk to..lol...Mccain doesn't look like he can make it much longer. And if we have to look forward to palin being president I think that is very sad. Also I think that mccain and palin speechs sound very striped. You know what else is said is that people around the world agree with obama but due to the fact they feel in there hearts we are not ready for a black president they will not vote for him.. SEEMS LIKE SOMETHINGS NEVER CHANGE

As a non American watching the debate I felt that McCain was condecending to Obama and also as far as Iraq is concerned Obama is right on. Afghanistan is the biggest threat to both our countries. Also as a Canadian whose troops are dying in Afghanistan it would be nice when your candidates are discussing allies they would remember to mention Canada as we are the country fighting in the most dangerous part of Afghanistan!! As far as Sarah Pallin is concerned she is not up for the job, remember she could be President and if she knows very little about countries outside of the U.S.A she will certainly not inspire the confidence of other nations
