One example that pops into my mind (and that in no way means it's the only example) Obama had a commercial that said that McCain says the income level at which someone moves from middle class to rich is $5,000,000. This supposed quote comes from the Saddleback Church forum where they were each asked questions in much the same setup as the 9/11 presidential forum if you saw that. You can google "John McCain says people that make 5 million are rich" and you can then watch the actual clip in its entirety on Youtube. In my opinion, using that quote as if that's what he meant is unethical and simply a lie.

I think that things you see in any political ad should not be taken as truth until you verify whether or no it's really true.

John McCain sits upon an endless sea of money. Biden doesn't. It's quite easy to give when you don't need what you're giving.

They don't.

Now, McCain's? Oh, yes.

I'm not convinced universal healthcare is a good thing, either.

Yeah, I'm gonna pile on with Roseiern, here - the notion that McCain is a guy who "will stick to his beliefs" is simply ludicrous - I'm talking flat-out, gut-bustingly funny. Really, I can't stop laughing.

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE IS NOT A GOOD THING!!

Yes, it's been SUCH a disaster in every single other industrialized, first-world nation on the planet. Those poor bastards pay less, and have longer life-expectancies, lower rates of infant mortality, etc, etc, etc...

Truly, just a DISASTER of BIBLICAL proportions. We should avoid giving everyone care so that they can remain healthy like it was the plague (which, ironically, may make a comback if we DO decide to skip the universal healthcare, LOL).

((McCain was asked how Palin will "reform" Washington and the government. Barbara Walters continually pushed on just who and what she was going to reform. His answer, which he was forced to elaborate on, was "all of Washington":))

Yeah, vagueness, denial, ambiguity, total silence, jokes at inappropriate times. All classic McCain attributes. Way to be yourself, John. The truth and issues be damned. lol.

He must have forgotten that Palin's no stranger to Washington - it's not like inauguration day would be her first exposure to the town.

She went there every year as mayor of Wasilla, seeking earmarks.

Here's another example. Obama has put out an ad quoting McCain as having said that Social Security is a disgrace as if McCain wants there to be no Social Security. Sorry, I couldn't find a link to the ad online.

What McCain really said was that we need to fix social security.

Sadly, they both have ads stretching the truth, or telling outright lies. McCain is leading in the lies department. I wish they would discuss their views on the issues, instead of what they want us to believe their opponent's views are!
