Well, Palin is on her own on the campaign trail.  And...she's telling the same old, same old about the bridge to nowhere:

Palin's 'Bridge to Nowhere' line returns

CARSON CITY, Nev. -- In her first solo campaign rally outside of Alaska, Gov. Sarah Palin drew an enthusiastic crowd at the Pony Express Pavilion Saturday and returned to a familiar refrain about the Bridge to Nowhere.”

Palin has come under fire in recent days for misleadingly saying she told Congress “thanks but no thanks,” refusing an earmark for a bridge to a sparsely inhabited island in her home state. Independent groups and media fact-checkers have said Palin advocated for the federal earmark before opposing it, only ended after Congress had essentially killed it, and kept the $223 million for the appropriation after the project was killed.

Palin had cut the refrain from her speech during her three-day visit to Alaska. But she came back to it today, citing it as an example of earmark reform she and McCain would push for in the White House.

“I told Congress thanks but no thanks to that Bridge to Nowhere -- that if our state wanted to build that bridge, we would build it ourselves," she said.

Palin did not deviate much from the speech she had given the last two weeks on the road with McCain. She reiterated a line that she put the governor’s luxury jet on eBay. While accurate, the jet wasn’t sold on eBay.

Nevada Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki said on stage that 10,000 people were in the crowd, but parks officials said the pavilion held only 3,500 people. The audience consisted of significantly more women than McCain-Palin joint rallies over the last two weeks, and Palin addressed her historic candidacy head on.

“The women of America aren’t finished yet, this November, with your help, we’re gonna shatter one glass ceiling once and for all,” she said.

Palin also acknowledged the presence of Chuck Yeager, the first pilot to break the sound barrier.>>>

The public sees this for what it is. She is no liar and has every right to tout her accomplishments! Go Sarah Go!

Go ahead and keep trying, though, the more you do, the better she fares.

The fact is that she is touting an accomplishment that she didn't have.

Unfortunately I think you are right. So it presents a moral dilemma - do we take the moral high ground and lose to dirty republican tactics again? Or do we get down in the gutter with them. And if we do get down in the gutter how do we get all the dirt of after we are done? But if we don't get down in the gutter we have 4 or possibly 8 more years or rot and decay in the white house. What does it say about our great democracy when we have gotten to this point? What happens to our credibility with the rest of the world - the little we have left? It's a little ironic that the republican party wants to stand on its religious beliefs - I really have to wonder - WWJD? Kind of doubt he would be part of the republican party - they remind me a bit of the Pharisees.

Yes but remember they voted for Bush not once but twice! And they have the talking heads convincing them every day that liberals are going to destroy their way of life. Just like sheep to the slaughter they will keep following and following - so long as they don't actually have to think for themselves. Kind of reminds me of all the middle school students I see wearing Hollister shirts, Croc shoes, and Vera Bradley pocket books - they all want to be individual as long as they all look the same.

She's got no choice but to keep saying it now, since if she suddenly quit it would tantamount to admitting that she'd been been caught lying about it.

Oh, and that means that the ones who are determined to vote for her anyway don't care if she's dishonest or not?

That would certainly explain a great deal.
