I a republican even though am poor and not religious.
Personally, I would MUCH rather support people who believe in God than support a man who attended church where the reverend says, "Godd#@n America" and other miscellaneous racist remarks.
Please do not come back and ask me how many sermons of Wright's I've listened to. I've listened to more than enough and he is disgusting!
I don't believe for ONE second that Messiah Obama was unaware of statements Wright made in the TWENTY year timeframe that he attended that church. Didn't the church also sell merchandise with certain derogatory remarks in print?

I wonder when you will have posted this drivel enough to have considered your job done?
Same old same old
The truth hurts!
Personally, I believe we are voting for President in this upcoming election, not Head Pastor, or Pope-in-Chief, or the like.
I do not care whether my President belongs to a particular religion - certainly don't insist that s/he belong to MINE - and don't even care all that much what his/her feelings about God are. I think often, people use religion as a means to judge morality or ethical fiber....which isn't necessarily a bad thing, though I'll point out that plenty of overtly religious people are quite slimy indeed. But just as there are plenty of religious charlatans without an ethical bone in their body, so is the opposite true: that one can be completely areligious, and still possess a superior moral compass.
In the end, I look at it that I'm not voting for Jeremiah Wright for President....and thankfully, I'm also not voting for the man who, four weeks ago TODAY, stood up in the pulpit of Sarah Palin's church in Wasilla (with her in attendance in the pews) and spouted anti-Semitic garbage. I'm able to separate out the fact that just because Palin didn't walk out, hurling calumnies at this man while she left, and just because Obama didn't leave his church, doesn't mean they share any of these arguably hateful views which came from the pulpits of their church(es). I'm betting the American voters will be able to make that distinction, too - even if you seem not to be able to.
Ashes where the bodies burning
No more war pigs have the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling Begging
