Thought maybe some of you might like a break from the tit-for-tat of the current campaign and instead look for some historical insight. The Museum of the Moving Image has posted a really fascinating collection of campaign ads since the '52.

I am too young to really remember much about the Willie Horton ads against Dukakis at the time they ran, but I do remember that in my elementary school in MA, we held a mock election (got to use the actual voting machines) and Bush won by a landslide. Many years later, I saw Dukakis, alone, picking up litter in a park in Boston and another time, riding the T. It is interesting to think how different the world might have been if he hadn't run such a poor campaign (and Bush's team hadn't been so successful).
