Clueless about the economy

Does John McCain really believe that our economy is fundamentally sound? Is this guy out of his freakin’ mind? He is either too old or too stupid to be president. Umployment is down. Wages are down. The price of everything is up. The deficit is up. The national debt is up. Yeah, sounds like the economy is in great shape, John. Perhaps it is time for another tax break for those who make over $250,000 a year. We could use some of that Reagan trickledown voodoo economics about now.
Perhaps when McCain is elected, his new treasury secretary Phil Gramm will straighten all of us whiners out?
The guys seem to be clueless about the economy.

Barack raising taxes on the 250,000 incomes will not bankrupt them. And as the middle class grows with the new jobs and tax cuts, more and more people will cross that 250,000 threshold and pay more taxes. Much better than cutting taxes...
Wow, what a dream, more and more people paying more and more taxes! Much better than tax cuts! Obama has a great plan there.
I'm just wondering where all these new jobs are going to come from. That's some plan to create jobs; raise taxes on the corporations and the rich, the sources of jobs. I'm sure that they will start hiring people in droves when they start paying those higher taxes. Or is it the working class that will start hiring people now?
I can't wait to see Obama tax our way to prosperity!!!
LOL - I've read over and over on this board how Obama's tax increases would be disastrous in an already struggling economy...
then a whole hosts of posts (oo, that rhymes) saying that the economy is sound.
Which is it?
Thank you, nicole_ftm for my siggy!
The most important things about our economy are sound:
Her quote was, "we have one of the best - if not the best - University systems in the world". You're want to be down on Americans. Why is that?
As far as Bush "starting a war", that is just a complete dismissal of history and the fact there was a violated cease fire from a war Iraq started so the cease fire was null. That is not "starting a war."

*** And we got ourselves into this war because.......Bush said there were weapons of mass destruction over and over and over......oops!
So did the Clinton Administration, the CIA, the UNSC and the US Congress (Dems too). The funny thing is that no other country or foreign intelligence agency stood up and said they didn't.
*** Someone screwed up and there weren't any found.
Right..."found."
*** So why are we still there spending billions and billions of dollars?
Along with the war on terror and a certain "spreading democracy" ideology, there's also the component of "we broke it...we bought it." If we leave Iraq in a weak condition, it will be a threat to Israel, a haven for terrorists and a pawn for Iran.
I agree with the last part of your statement, and I'm glad you brought in the bigger picture, because that's what it is really about.
