Here is a cool website where you can enter your family filing status and AGI and see whether/how your family will benefit tax-wise from the candidates' proposed tax plans:

You aren't giving more of your income to the top.

Why is it that the Bush Administration gave big breaks to the wealthy, and they STILL cut jobs, sent jobs overseas, and laid off workers? HMM? After all they got to keep MORE of their money?

everyone who itemizes deductions gets a deduction for charitable contributions.

But, remember:

1) you've given the money away, and

2) since its a deduction, you never reduce your taxes by the amount you gave to the charity

Maybe you could go into more detail about why adding Palin to the ticket was a sign of a cultural war. Should he have instead added a rich white man such as Romney. Would that have been more in line of your pre-conceived notion of what a conservative is, and can only be?

A huge part of the problem is HealthCare costs have risen by 78% between the years 2001-2007! Salaries have become stagnant. In a lot of cases, people making the big bucks are in the upper echelon of the companies they work for and have more benefits, like better healthcare, lower co-pays than the lower end workers, they probably get bonuses, stock options, etc. When Healthcare costs continue to skyrocket and salaries don't the middle class and poor workers suffer dramaticaly more. their measly raises are quickly eaten up by the increass in their healthcare ins.

Currently, the lower 80% (people making less than $65,000), pay less than 50% of the taxes, and receive roughly 80% of benefits.

Amen Doctor.

Why do people want this type of control over their lives.
