Obama's plan for our economy...spend, spend, spend. We'll be educating the world, providing poor countries with renewable energy, paying all debt of poor countries, etc., etc.

We are only as strong as our weakest link. Taking care of the poor is awesome. Not all poor people "want" to be poor. Hopefully, the next person that finds a cure for cancer will be helped. Or someone that figures out how to prevent Altzheimers. The possiblities are endless.

You must be a speed reader, you read that whole plan in under three minutes. I can see you like to make informed decisions.

This plan has been on Barack's website and he has been running for office for 19 months...and I am not new to this. The real issue is that his plan is better than Mccain's non plan. lol. not speed reading. distractions...(sigh) the reason Bush43 is selling out the US.

You know, it's AMAZING what you can do if you manage to save a few billion a year by endnig a war.

Shockingly, things like debt forgiveness, education and development tends to cause much less anger and bitterness inspiring terrorism than accidentally killing civilians in your tactical operations... (Not to mention investing a little money to fight diseases like MDR-TB -- something Americans currently aren't dying of, but it's in our best interest to weed out... I know all those fears of pandemic are sooo 2005, but drug-resistant strains of diseases are NOT a good thing for anyone.)

I confess that I might come off as one of those dreaded arugula-eating Happy-Holidays-wishing liberals here, but helping ease poverty and suffering in the world is not something that I'm gong to wring my hands over. Look, you can send aid to other countries to make yourself feel better, or you can be smart and invest some time and think carefully about the aid you're sending, and make a much bigger difference.

I might want to take up speed reading then.

In your opinion is there ever too much spending? I'm all for helping others but there is a limit. A couple of the things in his plan aren't all bad but come on.

He's talking a whole lot more than a few billion. There are some really good non-profits that are doing good work and should be encouraged to continue and even expand. The government doesn't need to pay for everything. Sometimes you've got to fix your own problems first before you can go solve the same problems in another country. I'm not saying to do absolutely nothing but this is crazy. More government money isn't the answer to everything.
