Our Adolescent Prez Is Hiding - Pathetic

The US economy is melting down and Junior's nowhere to be found. Amazing, isn't it? You'd think the Republican administration of this country would at least have the sense to hold a press conference with the President. Forget about it. You're on your own in the "ownership society". Want more of the same? Vote for McCain.

At 2:38 in the video at the link below Chris Mathews gets it absolutely right. WHERE THE HELL IS THE PRESIDENT? The other amazing thing, although I'm sure people are fully aware of the Republican partisan mindset by now, is what a complete knuckleheaded, talking point regurgitating, robot Eric Cantor is. AND HE'S A SITTING CONGRESSMAN! Wow. Do Americans seriously want more of these clowns running around the halls of government?

No. I do not want any of those GOP clowns anywhere near gov't. It's really amazing that voters don't see their childish and unprofessional ways, but it's there. And as for Bush43...I am shocked that he turns and RUNS back into the WH after he reads a few lines. What the ??? Well, he's done sooo much damage that I guess he knows that he'll be the target of all of those...you know...questions from reporters. lol.

What do you want the president to do?

I want him to hold a frickin' press conference at dinner time, one where he takes questions from the press. It'd be nice if he at least tried to let the American people know what's going on. That's not a lot to ask. Making a statement at 10AM and running as fast as he can back to his

I think you need to realize that these financial institutions that are going under offered these subprime rates were actually preditors giving loans to people they knew full well would default on the loans, and then they could forclose on them. These preditors got huge bonuses, they thought they'd make a killing knowing they would get the homes the buyers defaulted on, and make money, well, well, well, the economy took a nosedive and the banks lost, THEY too gambled and lost. Now they need the government to bail them out, meanwhile the ones who are basically responsible, get to keep their big bonuses. So, don't go blaming the ones who took the loans, the preditors are just as much at fault.

He stopped taking questions on a regular basis from the press

I think they all are cupable but blaming Bush ignores the problem.

The blame falls squarely on the shoulders of the commander and chief. This market is not a separate entity with a different gov't overseer. The people that were in charge were either the wrong people or they fell asleep at the wheel.

Lax rules, Lax leadership lead to problems on wall street, soon main street, the dept of the interior, the CIA, the FBI, and on and on. Bush43 is ultimately the one that needs to answer for this mess and not with a measly 10 minute speech. Answering questions is a start. But why am I wasting my time saying what the puppet of the GOP should have been doing? He didn't have any say in what he was ALLOWED to do. And John McCain is worse, because not only is he a GOP puppet, but incompetent as well. (eyes rolling)

No, I don't feel this is Bush's fault. This started back when Clinton wanted to make it easier for people to be able to buy and own a home, what didn't happen was some regulations that preditors couldn't loan money to couples that could not afford to borrow that much money. But the financial institution CEO's wanted to make money, at the time the economy was better, they loaned people more than they could really afford, they got bonuses, they didn't care,if they were out of a job, or could leave the job before the problems occured. They already made their bonuses! But then the housing market faultered, the homes people bought, they owed more than what they could sell for,so this is what happened, so here you have these preditory loaners, thinking they would make money taking over the house the people couldn't afford, and instead, they lost money also, the financial institution itself did, but the guys with the bonuses for their involvement were already gone. They got out before this happened, along with their bonuses!
