I am curious.  What do you hope to see in the next 4 years?  If Obama and Biden become President and Vice President, how will our nation look?  Which issue do you think we'll see the greatest growth/change on?

How do you think President Obama will impact our foreign relations?

our economy?

global climate?

education?

I ask any McCain supporters to refrain from criticizing the answers.  I sincerely want to know.  Of course everyone is free to post as they like, but please start a new thread if you'd like to debate the answers.

Thank you.

I'll bite:

foreign relations? I think he'll work to improve our relations with our Western Hemisphere neighbors. I think he'll work more as a partner with our European allies. And I think that he will work to establish and keep a timeline for withdrawal in Iraq.

our economy? I think that Obama's plans for the economy will include a bit more regulation than our more laissez faire present, but from the state of the current fiasco I'd say that's probably needed. I do believe he'll work to bring more jobs back to the U.S. and not reward companies that ship our jobs across borders.

global climate? I think that Obama will work towards better alternative energy resources, and in particular will work to make our vehicles more efficient in order to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. And since he has a reputation for this, I believe he'll continue funding the creation of more bike trails, not to create park spaces but rather to create safe bike routes for those who choose to use this method of transportation instead of cars. (I know the bike trails in NoVA do make it much easier for those who bike to work.)

education? I believe that Obama will not continue NCLB, which encourages our schools to teach children how to take tests and not how to learn. I believe that Obama will also get rid of the abstinence only education requirement for federal funding.

And one you don't have:

Women's rights. I believe that Obama will SIGN a pay equity law. I know that Obama will not require HHS to have medical facilities swear to not discriminate in hiring individuals who will not perform their duties in abortion clinics, pharmacies, and hospitals. Obama will NOT push to have abortion rights restricted.

I think an Obama presidency will help return the country to the people.

Regarding foreign relations:

I think that if Obama is elected we're going to see a number of changes.
