Fear of what might happen

All I hear and read from John McCain is how we must fear what will happen if Barack Obama is elected.
The problem is that all the bad things that have happened over the last eight years and continue to happen came under a Republican president. Before Bush took office, 9-11 had not happened. Back then, gasoline cost about $1.50 a gallon. Food prices and everything else was pretty tolerable. But then Bush was elected and ever since that time things have been going down hill in this country.
I do not fear what might be under Obama more than I fear what has been and will be continued if McCain follows Bush into office.
McCain supports all of Bush’s policies. So voting for McCain is like extending Bush’s term for four more years.
I do not think this country can survive four more years of George W. Bush. That thought scares the hell out of me.

Save the tired old talking points; the 1993 WTC bombing took place when Bill Clinton had been in office something like forty days; far less than Bush had been in office when 9/11 happened. If you want to blame Clinton for 9/11, then why don't you blame Dubya's dad and ol' St. Ronnie for the first WTC bombing - heck, while you're at it, blame them for literally putting weapons and training in the hands of the "mujahideen" in Afghanistan who we knew to be fundamentalist crazies back then, too - but they were anti-Commie at the time, and that's all that mattered. Google the photo of Don Rumsfeld shaking Saddam Hussein's hand in Baghdad in 1983, while trying to sell him yet more western military hardware (AFTER he "gassed the Kurds" - which is always another right-wing talking point).
Sorry, the ol' "Clinton Did It" line just doesn't work any more. It never DID work, actually, but by now, it's been so thoroughly discredited that it's laughable to see anyone seriously trying to get it out there anymore.
But for the present age, which prefers the sign to the thing signified, the copy to the original, representation to reality, appearance to essence.....truth is considered profane, and only illusion sacred. Sacredness is in fact held to be enhanced in proportion as truth decreases and illusion increases, so that the highest degree of illusion comes to be the highest degree of sacredness.

"Condescension?"
I'd have gone with "asshattery," but that's just a personal preference, LOL.

He apologized cause he got caught, he meant what he said and he said what he meant.
Well, to mash up the words of Senator Allen and Representative Westmoreland, perhaps if all those Macacas would stop bein' so uppity for once, they'd see just how good for them the Republican party really is.
Or they could just turn on their radios anywhere throughout this great land, to hear Rush Limbaugh singing about "Barack the Magic Negro," or calling him "halfrican American."
That oughtta set those uppity....well, you know.....straight.

Cynic: a blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.---Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary.
Bush was in charge of keeping our country safe. When you become president, you are not given a six-month period to get your shi t together. You are supposed to be ready from day one.
We have watched enough of his bungling with Katrina and so many other projects over the last eight years that we all know he and his are incapable of doing much right.
If we can just make it until late January of next year without any further catastrophies, everything will be cool.
Oh wait, there is that economy thing going on. Too late!
I disagree, the egos need to drop when a change at the top occurs....our intelligence always has to be one step (at least) in front of the enemy.
Katrina was not the Fed's fault. the egotistican nagan in his chocolate town (his words) was to blame for not making sure those levy's were in repair.
