Fear of what might happen

All I hear and read from John McCain is how we must fear what will happen if Barack Obama is elected.
The problem is that all the bad things that have happened over the last eight years and continue to happen came under a Republican president. Before Bush took office, 9-11 had not happened. Back then, gasoline cost about $1.50 a gallon. Food prices and everything else was pretty tolerable. But then Bush was elected and ever since that time things have been going down hill in this country.
I do not fear what might be under Obama more than I fear what has been and will be continued if McCain follows Bush into office.
McCain supports all of Bush’s policies. So voting for McCain is like extending Bush’s term for four more years.
I do not think this country can survive four more years of George W. Bush. That thought scares the hell out of me.

They should not rebuild those cities that are below sea level anyway

Galveston has been destroyed 3 or 4 times now by hurricanes. Should it be abandoned?

*** All I hear and read from John McCain is how we must fear what will happen if Barack Obama is elected.

That's because there is very good reason to fear someone as liberal and inexperienced as Obama, with his professed socialist agenda, becoming the President of the United States.

*** The problem is that all the bad things that have happened over the last eight years and continue to happen came under a Republican president.

That's absurd...it's like saying if a Democrat gets into office he, and his wife, are going to be involved scandals every other day, get bjs in the Oval and get impeached...hmmm...then again... ; )

*** Before Bush took office, 9-11 had not happened.

Right...because Clinton failed to take action against terrorists.

*** Back then, gasoline cost about $1.50 a gallon. Food prices and everything else was pretty tolerable.

What did a gallon of milk cost?

*** But then Bush was elected and ever since that time things have been going down hill in this country.

After 9/11 there was an economic crisis, a Clintonian recession, and the country had to spend massive amounts of money enhancing national security and conducting two wars...and STILL the economy grew, and has been growing each year. We've also had low inflation and low unemployment. I think the success of the country following 9/11 is a tribute to Bush and his management.

*** I do not fear what might be under Obama more than I fear what has been and will be continued if McCain follows Bush into office.

Obama is a tax and spend Democrat...something the country can't afford. Obama is completely inexperienced in foreign policy...something the country can't afford with new threats by Iran and Russia.

*** McCain supports all of Bush’s policies. So voting for McCain is like extending Bush’s term for four more years.

He does not...but it's very telling that every time the country faces a problem...be it enemies acting up or the economic crisis...Obama abandons his position and rushes to agree with McCain. That speaks volumes for the validity of Obama's positions and the inexperience that spawned them.

*** I do not think this country can survive four more years of George W. Bush. That thought scares the hell out of me.

Try surviving the next four years with a LOT less of your money, a nuclear Iran and the re-institution of the Cold War.

You are aware that a current president's impact is usually not felt, generally, for years later?

We're still feeling the fallout from Reagan - you know when he released all the poor mental patients and Vietnam vets who evidently had worn out their welcome - they're still out there on the
