Fear of what might happen

All I hear and read from John McCain is how we must fear what will happen if Barack Obama is elected.
The problem is that all the bad things that have happened over the last eight years and continue to happen came under a Republican president. Before Bush took office, 9-11 had not happened. Back then, gasoline cost about $1.50 a gallon. Food prices and everything else was pretty tolerable. But then Bush was elected and ever since that time things have been going down hill in this country.
I do not fear what might be under Obama more than I fear what has been and will be continued if McCain follows Bush into office.
McCain supports all of Bush’s policies. So voting for McCain is like extending Bush’s term for four more years.
I do not think this country can survive four more years of George W. Bush. That thought scares the hell out of me.

Your link shows that he did nothing, thanks. Oh, they arrested some of the people that carried out the attacks, so let me amend my comment to "next to nothing".

If Bush followed Clinton's policy, after 9/11, we would have done nothing. The terrorists died in the attacks (shows you how much al qaeda cares about the arrests), so by Clinton's record, we really got them.

yes

Stupidity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting the results to be different.

Alternatively, let them rebuild, but offer no federal guarantees or flood insurance.

Think whatever you want, but Condi Rice got a hand delivered memo on July 10th 2001, stating that an attack was imminent, and Bush got one on Aug 6th 2001 in his PDB. I really don't care what conservatives say that it wasn't specific, that is BULLPUCKEY. Bush was told that alQuiada was of great importance, but there was NO MEETING until Sept 6th 2001. I realize that Conservatives want to place all the blame on Clinton to get their good ole boy off the hook. Well, guess what a higher percentage of Americans believe Bush was MORE at fault for letting it happen. I honestly am sick of this whole Bush did no wrong, and Clinton is at fault, Tough Noogies.

Yep, the memo. No info there. Wow, an attack is imminent? Must have been from Kreskin! Maybe more info would have been pieced together if Clinton Justice Dept official Jamie Gorelick didn't prevent our intelligence agencies from sharing information. Nice job on that one.

Oh, and nice work over at Freddie Mac by her too. She's a walking disaster.

Back in 2000 I liked McCain for his ideals regarding ecology and preserving land, soft money reforms and so on. He even seemed more "common people" friendly. But something happened. I still like him, but after all the research I did and yes, Obama has made some bad judgment calls early on in his career as did McCain, it all comes down to what each of us want out of our candidate and who can reunite this country (this is a personal concern). Now with the latest financial disasters, we need someone who uses a methodical process to solve problems, because this will all end up in the new Presidents lap. The financial state the last 7+ years has left us in, I feel that tax increases may need to be part of the solution for either candidate.... what an awful thought!!!!

This sounds like a assumption on your part. Who can say what Clinton or any other person would have or have not done.

You're right about Reagan, that's when financial deregulation started and then in the 90s the All Republicans made it worse when the voted for the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.

Past behavior is your best indicator.

At what scale? One thing is for sure, because Clinton isn't a war monger and needing to pick our battles wisely, our monies would be spent on Al-Qaida and not in Iraq. Base it on past behavior.

Go back and reread .41. If I read it right, looks to me like they got their convictions. What did you want him to do? String them up by their toes?
