Wake up?

I keep returning to this board in the hopes that there will be some intellectual, thoughtful dialogue going on...And I am always so disappointed.

I think so many of you who post here are really smart and insightful, and have a lot of great things to say...But I'm just wondering when an intelligent conversation is going to take place.

I'm really not trying to be offensive, but it just seems that someone poses a question or a thought, and then it's off to the races about how much op-ed 'evidence' and partisan subjectivity one can possibly squeeze into a post.

Is there no one here, besides me, who believes in analyzing BOTH candidates with the same critical eye, and then moving forward with discussion that leads to some kind of thoughtful debate?

I keep saying this, and no one replies to me.  But I believe it's important enough to keep nagging about....And so, I will.

Well, I'm sorry that you took it that way, but I also think extreme Conservatives are crazy.

"I have yet to hear a conservative admit a conservative president has ever done anything wrong."

Oh please, the most positive thing I've said about Bush is he's read a book:

Exactly.

Ya know, it's difficult for everybody because I think everybody wants the same thing, ideally.

However, reality is far from Utopia, so here's how it breaks down:

As personal, individual freedom increases, government influence decreases.

You can't have both.

*** Oh...and I must have corrected and posted and re-posted a sourced refutations about potential tax increases by Obama

Actually, Obama's "95%" who will get "tax breaks" includes 40% who don't pay any taxes so they're going to get government handouts. Where's that money coming from? And the top "5%"...that's folks making as "little" as $150k. I know folks making more who are living from paycheck to paycheck. They sure can't stand a tax hike to pay for Obama's socialist programs. Them's the facts...

And what do you really think the reaction of "the rich" will be to getting screwed? Methinks they'll stop spending money they don't have screwing the economy...and screwing "the little guy." And the corporations that are getting screwed? Methinks they'll stop hiring people...and probably even downsize...raising the price of their products...screwing "the little people."

Obama has such a "neighborly" plan.

Yes, that's right - I soon noticed you seemed to be in error re: your claim to be "new".

Why are you so mad that I have a different point of view from yours?
