Does Obama have a record of legislation to avert the current economic crisis? Naw Naw Naw Naw Naw (He did get a lot of $$$ out of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac employees/Pacs though)
Does Obama have a record of solving housing problems? Naw Naw Naw Naw Naw (He did get federal housing funds that lined the pockets of his racketeering friend Rezco and helped buy him a million $$ home though)
Does Obama have a record of health care reform? Naw Naw Naw Naw Naw (He did get federal funds for the hospital where his wife earns $250,000+ per year though)
Does Obama have a clear policy regarding abortion? Naw Naw Naw Naw Naw (That is "above his pay grade". . .except he is very clear that babies who survive an abortion procedure should not get medical care)
Does Obama have a record of supporting women's rights? Naw Naw Naw Naw Naw (Well, he does have a record on women's rights, but probably not one liberals want to talk about: women on his staff earn less than men, he wouldn't consider a woman for VP, he betrayed Alice Palmer, etc.)
Does Obama represent "change" we should believe in? Naw Naw Naw Naw Naw

Well, I also knew this was going to happen. I remember the conversation I had with our Realtor friend. He was doing so great with his house selling, nice commissions, he had over 20,000 worth of settlements the one month. Bought himself a Corvette. Had another good month a few months later, bought himself a Mustang GT.
I love enlightened election discussion.
I'm pretty sure you know that I was and am not thrilled with Obama's vp selection. It created an unnecessary issue when he could have had great momentum. That is overwith.
With how things stand, Obama is looking more and more presidential, while McCain looks more and more like what we have now - someone reckless and willing to gamble with our military, because, as with Bill Clinton and Monica... because he can. I wonder sometimes about how he is from a military family with a long history of service and achievement, worry to the extent he never reached the heights of dad and granddad, and now he gets to play CiC where they still followed orders. I worry very much that there is no talking him out of anything when his anger spikes.
I picture the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, one I experienced as a child, one I learned 25 years later was averted because one person voted no when the cabinet voted on war or no, and that person was the president. I do not see McCain doing this, and if he had been president then, maybe none of us would be here talking on this election.
I didn't feel that way about McCain 2 years ago or 2 months ago. But watching him recently gives me pause, makes me concerned. Not too long ago I felt both candidates left something to desire, and that is true... but one clearly leaves more now, at least in the eyes of this writer.
More than anything, the next president has to do three things. Really listen to all sides, then make a choice and get it implemented.
I'm not looking for an ideologue. I'm looking for someone who acts conservatively in handling our assets, understanding the inherent dangers in putting them at risk. Who understands that running around screaming 'big government' is counterproductive when you are trying to work within government to get things done.
I do not believe Obama is afraid of a different opinion. I cannot say that about McCain.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people can hear things on tv and read them in the paper and then come on here and seem to think that they know that those things are gospel.
It is very easy to tell who is persuaded by what they hear.
Wouldn't it be nice to simply have a discussion using first hand knowledge rather than all of the talking points the party one belongs to uses?
Great point.
Since we can't see and hear most matters of national import first hand, we are lucky when we have access to videos which show us:

Why didn't Sen. McCain co-sponsored this failed piece of legislation when it was reintroduced in this, the 110th Congress, in April 2007? I present to you S. 1100, Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2007:
