How irresponsible is our government? Don't ask! So irresponsible that it won't even let private citizens fill the gap of its lax oversight. It tells a small US meat producer that it can't test for the deadly Mad Cow disease because, in effect, that might shame the big boys into doing more testing for our safety.

This disease is serious. This is just one of the thousand ways our Republican government makes our lives more dangerous. You think those dangerous toys from China were a coincidence? There is no agency left to protect us and test.

Yes, there are Democrats in government, but they are powerless to do anything with regard to this situation.

"There are no democrats in government?"

Bush did his best to toss all he could out and prevent anymore from joining. Just look at the Justice Department and their unprecedented partisan hiring and firing practices.

Bush, you see, doesn't play well with others. It's his way or the highway.

This particular lawsuit is obsurd on so many levels, I can't actually believe what I'm reading.

So, how about kosher beef? Are they going to have the companies that sell it stop advertising there beef is kosher?

I rarely sit open-mouthed at the computer, but that's what I'm doing.

Hmmm. I really have gone through the Looking Glass. "I try to think of one impossible thing each morning."

I know - that's what it's been like under Bush and his guys like McCain. There's just so much ridiculousness that it's overwhelming. Some of it is just pathetic, and a lot of it is tragic, like the over 4000 lives and 2 trillion dollars we've wasted on a frolic and detour in Iraq while our real enemy bin Ladin is still on the loose plotting against us.
