The idea sounds good about giving taxpayers an equity stake in the bailout don't know how it could actually be done. Don't know about stopping all foreclosures though, unless I can get an equity stake in someone's house.
I just say screw it and let things happen, then we're all even again and it is up to us, not our children or grandchildren or future generations to clean up the mess.....
I'm sorry to hear that - but then he should have resigned - he is of no use where he is now as one of the most powerful politicians in the United States.
Problem is that nobody really knows if/how his judgment is affected. Any indictment of Domenici's abilities to function could be turned into precedent and used against others like Teddy Kennedy. Am guessing that both parties know there are members who aren't the sharpest tools in the box!
I will be glad to see Domenici go. He may be St. Pete to those at the national labs in Los Alamos and Sandia, but he ain't to me! I don't care for his continued championing of nuclear energy and drilling. In November, we have a choice between uber-conservative Steve Pearce and the quite liberal Tom Udall.

That is a fair argument as far as it goes. My objection is that IMHO, the sorts of bonuses that have become common in the last 1-2 decades are simply a form of legal embezzling. If the best and brightest will only work as long as they can fleece the company they work for, maybe they should try the track instead.
