McCain's Political Theater?

I think McCain's "suspension" of his campaign to go to DC and sit around while Congress hammers out a bailout plan is just political theater.  I am not sure that McCain's presence is required at all.  He will need to vote on a bill either way, but he can fly in, vote and be back on the trail.  Also, I think postponing the debate is another political stunt.   You know, "country first."  Our country's representatives cannot work on this program without McCain and his campaign lobbyists sitting there sounds a bit ridiculous.   I think this political theater will play well to the base, but I think it makes McCain look like he cannot multi-task well enough to campaign then go vote on a bill.

McCain demonstrates leadership...Obama, as usual, plays catch-up.

Leadership without good judgement means absolutely nothing. GWB is a good example of that.
On the other hand, time and time again, Obama has shown that he has a good head on his shoulders. He thinks things through and makes good decisions. He is the kind of leader that we need.

It's funny last week, before the latest polls showed him down by 9 - the economy was fundamentally strong!!!

Yes...I think it is also quite presumptuous of him to think that Congress cannot hammer out a deal without him.

Yes and McCain/Palin were accusing Obama of 'using the economic crisis' for political gain. So it's only 'political gain' if it is Obama, it's 'presidential' if its McCain. Nice to have the playbook so we know how to interpret everything - eyeroll.

*** Leadership without good judgement means absolutely nothing.

That's why we oppose Obama, who's demonstrated bad judgment at every turn.

*** GWB is a good example of that.

Bush has generally shown good judgment.

*** On the other hand, time and time again, Obama has shown that he has a good head on his shoulders. He thinks things through and makes good decisions. He is the kind of leader that we need.

Obama has been WRONG on every issue, and after thinking things through he usually ends up following McCain's lead. That's the kind of leader we don't need.

Well, we've seen the way he has hidden Palin from the press - God forbid she have to address actual issues.
