In all the excitement of today's news I wonder how many saw the interview with Katie Couric today. Sarah did great. Katie had the nervous blinking syndrome. It was so interesting to watch Katie's reactions to Sarah - between all the blinks - I could sense some real hatred. I enjoyed watching it.

Here it is :

*** And again, as I've pointed out before, that one little piece of failed legislation does not suddenly make McCain a regulation sort of guy.

You can try and spin it however you like, but the FACT is that only McCain had the foresight to see these problems and took action. That’s 100% more than either Obama or Biden who naturally did nothing. It was the Dems who rallied to kill the bill to keep Fannie and Freddie unregulated.

*** Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac were not the only ones involved in this crisis. They were not the cause of this crisis. They're not even the biggest CONCERN of this crisis.

The bad mortgages are at the heart of the current “crisis.”

*** So, let's spell it out--in an effort to get more people buying more houses, taking out more loans, unscrupulous lenders created packages that enabled individuals to buy more home than they could afford, with no money down frequently and often with payments that would balloon. Seriously, a loan for 0 down and interest only payments for the first few years? That's just stupid. And it also encourages a ridiculously over-priced "flip" market.

It was the Democrats who proposed and supported those sub-prime lending policies…and the Democrats who had oversight and protected them from the regulations the Republicans wanted to impose.

*** The first step in this crisis then was deregulating BANKS, not Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. They just stupidly invested in those banks, just like a whole lot of other WALL STREET FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (none of which was covered by that failed piece of legislation BTW).

Who deregulated the banks…specifically…and what regulations…specifically…were lifted that led to this economic crisis?

*** So, if McCain's legislation had passed MAYBE Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac wouldn't need bailing out. Maybe they would, since WALL STREET WAS DOING IT TOO.

What wall street was going was lending and trading and insuring these failed mortgages. If the mortgages were good then we wouldn’t be in the trouble we’re in.

*** Sorry for all the yelling. I really get tired of folks not understanding the financial crisis and thinking that dinky bill would have made a difference. It wouldn't have.

Read…please…connect the dots.
