Afraid to debate

If McCain does not show up for the debate tonight in Mississippi, it will likely be for no other reason that he is afraid to debate the issues. He will have no one there by his side to correct his gaffes. He will not be able to come back an hour later to explain what he really meant to say. There is only so long that you can baffle people with bull.
For the past three months, McCain has done little to explain his stand on the issues. He does not want the average voter to know where he stands. Because he favors the status quo. The more voters understand were he stands, the less likely it is that they will vote for him. McCain will likely try to use the economic downturn as an excuse for not participating in the debate. Even though his presence in Washington right now means little in the process.

I highly doubt that. Seriously, McCain sounds like he's half asleep when he speaks!

Senator McCain has a 20 plus year record behind him. If the average voter can't figure it out by now, I'd say the average voter has some problems.

"If McCain does not show up for the debate tonight in Mississippi, it will likely be for no other reason that he is afraid to debate the issues."

Are you serious? McCain has been trying to get Obama to debate all summer. He's asked him at least 10 times since June to do town hall debates. Obama has turned him down every time.

I really don't think the issue is whether he is afraid or not; I think that he is just trying to postpone it so he can do his political posturing thing. I mean, it's so important that he be in Washington to fix this mess when just last week he was saying that the fundamentals of the economy were strong. JMHO
