The flat taxers don't understand how bad it will be for the economy. The fact that it's unfair doesn't matter to the republicans, but think of all the jobs that will be lost:

Tax accountants
Tax Attorneys
IRS employees
Lobbyists
The media (less advertising for all of the above)
Software programmers
Think tank employees

Nope. It'll never work, thank God!

No, my ideology is just fine. Nothing has changed my opinions on what a disaster McCain and Palin would be, if they got elected. The video's did nothing to change my mind. The video's I referred to you, clearly demonstrate what a flip flopper and liar both McCain and Palin are. They represent the truth.

Fuzzy math. The rich guy and the poor guy aren't living in the same neighborhood, let alone in the same house. The rich guy probably also spends more on his food and probably doesn't shop at Target.

Nothing fuzzy about it. This is exactly how actual tax impact must be measured.

In the past, you can bet disposable income was a factor in setting tax rates and brackets.

Maybe have a sales tax in the place of income tax.

< Fuzzy math. The rich guy and the poor guy aren't living in the same neighborhood, let alone in the same house. The rich guy probably also spends more on his food and probably doesn't shop at Target.

>>> Nothing fuzzy about it. This is exactly how actual tax impact must be measured. A far greater percentage of disposable income goes to taxes in the lower income household. For it to be accurate, the lower income household should pay $1600.

Not accurate. The "rich" guy could be spending exactly the same percentage of his disposable income, or more, to support his lifestyle as the poor guy does. It's not fair to tell the guy who worked hard and earned more, than he has to live a "lesser lifestyle" because the poor guy, who didn't work as hard, wants some of his money.

< but we tax income, not disposable income

>>> We do? You don't think disposable income was ever factored into setting tax rates? (that you object to.)

I'm sure there were liberals out there putting the screws to the "earners." That's why 40% of Americans don't pay any taxes but still get all the same benefits that the "rich" do.

>>> Bottom line is a flat rate isn't flat, and the rich use more services.

A flat rate is flat...that's why they call it flat...and the rich don't use more services, but they do pay exponentially more for the services they do receive.

>>> No, my ideology is just fine. Nothing has changed my opinions on what a disaster McCain and Palin would be, if they got elected.

No surprise there. I didn't really expect any kind of thoughtful analysis.

>>> The video's did nothing to change my mind.

I guess you're just too entrenched in your ideology. The leaders of your party...heck, even Obama himself, stated quite clearly that he was unqualified. I'm afraid we've lost another one to the cult of the Obamessiah.

>>> The video's I referred to you, clearly demonstrate what a flip flopper and liar both McCain and Palin are. They represent the truth.

LOL! What partisan tripe. You expect me to take your propaganda seriously...but you deny the actual words from the actual mouths of the leaders of your party? LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!
