McCain sure lost the debate

Commentators pointing out how McCain never looked at Obama, seemed to be looking for a fight, kept saying Obama doesn't understand - then Obama looked at McCain, looked at camera and spoke to people at home, and showed McCain over and over that he DOES understand.

The bracelet - loved how Obama retorted "I have my own bracelet",

You just proved McCain right. Obama said that he...as PRESIDENT...would to meet WITHOUT PRECONDITIONS with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Kissinger advocated talks at the Secretary of State level or lower...NOT with the President.

Thank you..another one who noticed all the lying that M did!! I cannot remember what was said at the time in what the lies were about, but did notice that many times O had to interrupt M saying, "That's not true..that's not true John" and then correct the lies. Does M really think he'll win votes by lying? That's an insult to voters in my opinion!

I did not prove McCain right - Katie Couric actually called Kissinger and verified that Obama was correct - don't have a link yet as she said it on air but I haven't found the tape or transcript yet - McCain doesn't know the position of his own advisors. Kissinger has long advocated for meetings - he has been opposed to the Bush/McCain stance.

Why wouldn't he? That has been the Bush way for 8 years - I think most of the country has become enured to it by now. McCain realized that he lost last time by taking the high road so now he is down in the gutter. Too bad he doesn't realize that once done he may never get the stench off.

I'll let you debate it with Kissinger himself...

Fact Check: Kissinger Defends McCain's Iran Stance

September 26, 2008 11:54 PM

ABC News' Kirit Radia Reports: Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger came to the defense of longtime friend Sen. John McCain following Friday's presidential debate saying he "would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level."

"Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality," Kissinger said in statement issued by the McCain campaign.

Obama voted with the President almost 50% of the time and along party lines 97% of the time...which seems to indicate that the Democrats voted with Bush nearly 50% of the time. Not to bad for such a partisan atmosphere. Besides, voting with the President doesn't mean you're wrong...this economic crisis is a perfect example. If the Democrats had voted with Bush and McCain when they were pressing for Fannie and Freddie reform this problem might have been avoided.

*** Lived - in the past. Did not appear relevant to the situation we now face.

It's difficult to get experience in the future, but I guess that's what Obama and his followers are hoping for.

What I wrote below

Keeping an open mind I thought McCain didn't better than I expected, he started off looking really nervous but dove right in. Obama was ready to receive, it was truly like a good tennis match.
